Is anyone using V5 with Stunnel? Ever since I upgraded I can't seem to get connected to the secure server side. Unencrypted side works, and before the upgrade to V5 Stunnel was configured correctly and running as it should. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling Stunnel with the same results.

v5 with Stunnel is working well for me. I didn’t have to change or reconfigure it after upgrading from v4.

try a different port maybe make sure port is changed in v5 to same as you set it up in v4? Small things sometimes are missed.

does gui still work for you? gave up on that and just have it running as service and it connects so has to work but gui says issues.

No go on changing ports. Doesn't even work over the LAN securely either. Oddly enough the Stunnel log is showing accepted connections but connecting through both a browser and via the app time out.

Edit:
Remote access wizard shows a web request error 12002

Anyone still on bi4 finding their system reverting to demo mode (evaluation stamp on videos)?

It happens every other day and I have to re-enter my key. I thought it was because I went to bi5 and then reverted to bi4, but a friend who has been in bi4 all along started seeing the same issue.

I've been on 4 all along and haven't seen what you're saying...

With a buggy release like this it's going to be awhile before faith in BlueIris updates is restored. This was not ready for public yet.
Lol, hopefully you have learned your lesson. The same thing happened with 4. the same thing happens with many other pieces of software on the first day of their release. Hopefully next time you will use some common sense.

I wasn't around for version 4 upgrade, thankfully i guess. To be fair, with current version 4 my experience has been very positive and software stable. That however doesn't change the fact that paid public software used by hundreds, maybe thousands? of people appears appears to be released in beta stage for users to waste time working out bugs. I don't agree many other software being broken on the first release, i don't recall last time i had upgrade issues with anything, either personal or at work, feel free to quote what other software releases had these critical upgrade issues.

As for the common sense, i believe industry standard is that public versions released are alpha and beta tested and ready for public to use on the first day.

Maybe next time you BlueIris should call initial release "beta" and ask users to work out bugs, i'm sure there would be a lot of volunteers to help out, rather then pretend this is some sort of "common sense".

The FACT is that there have been issues with minor updates and the advice was ALWAYS to wait a least a week.
The beauty of blue iris is that the developer gives your the OPTION to update. Others dont and wait months for minor beta updates. No thanks to waiting 6 months for a minor feature or camera integration. BI does this in a week or two. You as the end user need to use your brain. The developer is at fault for failing to list an IQ of 80 in the system requirements.
See the milestone section of this forum for serious issues with their new release. That is paid software at 50-150 PER camera.
Maybe next time you should use common sense and if your OCD is that bad, move to another vms. You wont.

When my friend, who relies on me to help support his blueiris installation, contacted me, his bi4 wasn't running. It was stuck on the evaluation/license entry dialog box. I though maybe the system had upgraded automatically. It hadn't, so I just reapplied his key. That resolved the issue, but two days later it happened again. And then last night, it happened to mine.

Since this is probably unrelated to the migration to 5, I think I'm going to start a new thread on it. Sorry for the disruption in this one.

I find it completely unacceptable for a representative of any software to call his customers low IQ, you should be ashamed. The FACT is that not all Blue Iris customers come to this forum, and they should not be expected to, before performing upgrade that has been made available. FACT is that knowingly releasing a broken product is a bad practice, transparency with customers goes a long way.

Telling me to go to another vms...... please have some class

I find it unacceptable for someone with a low IQ to falsely claim that I or this website are representatives of Blue Iris. We are not. This website is independent and no one tells me what to do.
See, you refuse to go to another vms, so why the hell should he care? Next time use what is left of your brain to make a SMART decision when upgrading. Or move to an NVR, there are very few upgrades there to worry about.

I was under the wrong impression you are, judging by how defensive and knowledgeable you are about the product, ok then noted and good to know. He/they/BlueIris should care because because we, as paying customers, are providing feedback. Again, industry practice, is that publicly available upgrade versions are ready for use day 1. Nowhere, including BlueIris website, does it say we should wait months before using the available software update, or that if we do we should expect a slew of critical software debilitating bugs.

Horrific and totally unacceptable. That's why you need to move to another platform ASAP. Why would you want to stay on with a company this irresponsible.

1. In my experience version 4 has been a great VMS, hoping version 5 improves upon that
2. I have already invested in it
3. Support community has a vast knowledge of the product and willing to share

As a potential customer i would maybe second guess my decision based on these issues, for now as a customer i think customer feedback is important and should be acknowledged. (yes i will be providing feedback to BlueIris support directly as well)

1. Some of the updates to BI4 were buggy. You must have actually waited to install those.
2. You have an entire 30 bux "invested" in it. For 8 cams or less milestone is free.
3. Yes, that is why coming to the forum before updating would have been a smart move.

I'm with @fenderman. If you're complaining about issues after the initial release of a major upgrade, either you are not cut out to be an early adopter or are using the wrong platform. I have never had a major release upgrade for anything go perfectly. That's why you plan, implement, test, and verify. Not all settings will transfer properly....double check them. The pre release documentation alluded to this regarding Win 10 64 bit. I was ready for a few a few issues. I ran into the UI3 remote view issue. A bit of sense, experience, and Google had it resolved in no time.

Hell, a few years ago I screwed up my audio production machine (I do audio post production.....mixing and mastering after my day job). Upgraded Waves (a plug in manufacturer) to the latest and greatest. Then Pro Tools stopped recognizing those plug ins ($1500 worth) and I rely upon them. I didn't read the documentation properly......the 64 bit upgrade of Waves would not work in the 32 bit environment of my version of Pro Tools. Derp....installed the 64 bit version of Pro Tools, re did my particular settings, and everything worked fine.

Blue Iris is great for DIY types. If you want an easy IP system, go with Avigilon and Avigilon cameras or Axis cameras with one of their pre built NVRs. Or go with a Swann system from Sams Club when the price of the big Enterprise VMS' knock you back. If you want real easy, snag an analog or hybrid NVR from Pelco or Bosch for cheap.....it will do what you want it to.

But don't complain when a major release comes out and everything doesn't work just right for your particular system.
