what firmware would i need to install for ip8m-t2599ew camera?

or does anyone know the dahua part number of this camera?
To figure this out, you first have to find the Amcrest firmware for the camera. Firmware Upgrade | Amcrest Technologies
Then you look at the file name to find the type name which is type number plus a name (both are critical). In this case you find that it is a "Hx25(8)xx Molec" device.

The next step is to browse the Dahua firmware. Index of /images/Files/Firmware
What you want to find there is firmware for "Hx25(8)xx Molec" and get the most current version. In this case you can find HX2XXX (the letter X is used when the number can vary) Molex and the most recent version is "V2.820.0000000.36.R.210723". So that would be the one try try and cross flash it to.

Has anyone found an increase in streaming performance and stability after flashing an Amcrest cameras to Dahua firmware?
I received my IP5M-T1179EW-28MM and I'm thinking about flashing it, but only if there's a performance benefit. Thank you.

I cannot say I've seen any performance improvement crossflashing any of mine. I did find additional features (cannot remember specifically what anymore). Also better odds that if there is a bug or security patch needed that Dahua will implement it before downline rebranded ones do. Of course that also comes at the risk of a new bug being introduced as well. lol

Has anyone found the Dahua firmware for the IP5M-T1273EW-AI camera? I've looked through Dahua's website and they don't seem to make a camera with the same specs.
The amcrest firmware is Amcrest_IPC-HX5(4)(3)XXX-Leo_Eng_N_Stream3_AMCREST_V2.800.00AC000.0.R.210706.bin

READ my post at the top of the page, about 5 posts up. I detailed exactly what you want to look for and gave a link to the Dahua firmware page. You found the Amcrest firmware already. When you go to the Dahua firmware link above you can see there is a matching Dahua firmware from January 18 2022.

I've followed your instructions and found the firmware DH_IPC-HX5(4)(3)XXX-Leo_MultiLang_NP_Stream3-USA_V2.800.0000000.37.R.220118.bin but it will not upgrade. It gives the error "Update package invalid and update failed. Device will reboot immediately. ". I have read that I need to downgrade to an older firmware version but I've been unable to find older versions of the amcrest firmware so I can upgrade to the dahua version.

Also keep in mind that some of the newer cameras are being hard-coded to not allow this flashing to occur...

Ah - yeah I think wittaj might be right. I remember reading on some other thread about that a while back that some of the newer firmware might not allow cross flashing without first downgrading to an older firmware. I guess if an older firmware cannot be found or if the device is new enough that there never was an prior firmware old enough that it might not be possible at all.

Maybe, and only maybe..... flashing it via a direct TTL connection to the internal circuit board might work. That is a lot more involved though and requires a TTL adapter, manually extracting the firmware, then use a terminal emulator command line to interrupt the boot loader and and manually send each segment individually. If the firmware signing is at the boot loader level it still might not accept it though.

Hi all.

For the Dahua firmware on the Amcrest IP5M-T1179EW-28MM: Does this give the option to set human or vehicle detection which the Amcrest does not provide? That would be about the only reason I'd want to upgrade, to get the human detection alert sent to my Surveillance Station so I can stop watching the wind events. Thanks!

Anyone? Could someone send me a screen shot of some of the "Event" setup screens following the upgrade? Thanks.

I didn't have a chance to look through all 14 pages here, I have a Amcrest IP2M-841 and was wondering if there is a Dahua firmware for this camera. I followed the directions (based on firmware Amcrest_IPC-AWXX_Eng_N_AMCREST_V2.420.AC00.18.R.20200330) but didn't find any equivalent Dahua firmware.

I did find this page, maybe it will help someone that has an Amcrest that can be switched to Dahua though: Amcrest to Dahua ipcam mapping

I don't think Dahua made a PTZ like this IP2M...

I have the Lorex 2K doorbell, am hoping I can switch this to Dahua as they now also have the 2K doorbell....

Yep, they didn't make one like that, so there is no Dahua firmware to flash it to.

Anything for the
IP8M-T2669EW-AI
It is already an AI camera. Would there be any advantage? Once it is flashed, is it recognized as a Dahua camera model?
Thanks

Greetings everyone! I hope you’re having a great day!

As of today, the IP5M-T1179EW with the “03-2022” manufacturing date cannot be downgraded to an older Amcrest version which then allowed it to be upgraded to the Dahua firmware. If you try the downgrade, it will brick after it’s done flashing the official firmware. Tested this on 3 cameras and all 3 bricked. Before the 03-2022 revision I flashed 80+ IP5M-T1179EW with almost zero fail rate.

Based on what i've read from the threads below and comparing spec sheets it appears that the Lorex LNE9282B/LNE9292B is the OEM'd version the Dahua IPC-HDW3841T-ZAS which is the same the Empire IPC-T3841T-ZAS.
Hoping someone can help me confirm/deny this.

If it is accurate that Dahua IPC-HDW3841T-ZAS = Lorex LNE9282B/LNE9292B (and Empire IPC-T3841T-ZAS) then i'm wondering if there is a TFTP method to update the LNE9282B/LNE9292B to Dauha's latest firmware build date of 22-06-29 [as of the date of this post].

You will find that Amcrest and Lorex have been hardcoding the units to not allow updates to Dahua firmware. No idea if this camera is one of them, but it is new enough it could be.

But you do not want 8MP on a 1/2.8" sensor. The 2MP version on the same size sensor will kick the 8MP version butt all night long...
