    Web Login of NVR

That is interesting. I graduated with a CS degree back in the day, and hiding common ports was what was always preached. I had no clue that now it does not matter all that much b/c they scan so fast, but it makes complete sense. Now I am trying to setup IVS on a couple of my cameras. I should...

    Web Login of NVR

Yes sir you are the man. That was it. I bet when I was setting this up or something a while back, I fat fingered the thing and put it on port 8000.

    Web Login of NVR

I am completely baffled at this too. When I login to Smart PSS I only have my NVR setup as a device. Then all my cameras that are connected to it show up as I drop down the menu for the NVR. When I just try to put in the ip address as @catcamstar wanted into the browser 192.168.2.45 I get the...

    Tripwires

One thing that I worked on last night was updating the firmware packages on all four cameras. I found them all on Andy's page, and that really seemed to help. Before it would not let me draw any lines in the IVS setting no matter how I tried. After I get done with some work today I am going...

    Web Login of NVR

Morning @catcamstar I have a POE switch which all 4 of my cameras are connected to and one NVR. I only have the NVR listed in Smart PSS, but I can not login to it by just putting the ip for some reason. I have to login to smart pss and then click the link to web button. That is not a big deal...

Dahua ip camera added to my Hikvision set recommended configuration ?

I have 4 Dahua HDW5231R-ZE cameras. 3 of them I have IVS for and can setup. However, one of them I have the IVS menu item, but nothing comes up on the screen when I click it. The only difference I am seeing is that the one without the IVS is set to PAL while all the others are set to NTSC...

    Web Login of NVR

So I clicked on the pencil icon and verified the username and password and then clicked "save". At that point it told me the ip address was invalid. I went over to Smart PSS to verify that the ip address of 192.168.2.45 was indeed the address and it was as you can see in the picture. I also...

Thanks for the response @Arjun Working on it right now and I am having issues drawing the tripwire. I click the Draw Rule button and I can not draw anything on the video section. I have to be missing something here.

    Web Login of NVR

I can login to all my cameras via the web login by putting in their local ip address. However, I can not login to the NVR using the same method. I can get into the web login by using the Link to Web login from Smart PSS. While I was looking around on the different pages I found this and was...

Dahua owners - where do you do motion detection? In camera? Or in BI?

This thread has already been very inform BI. I will be setting up IVS this week. When doing so I was planning on logging onto the camera that I want to set it up on through the web login and trying to set it up. Would this be the proper way, or should I login to the NVR and set it up from there?

    Setting the Time

Thanks, I know this seems so trivial, but I had been struggling with it b/c I was not sure if I wanted to do it on the NVR or the individual cameras. I think some cameras had their own times while the NVR had it set. I think they are all good now. Thanks

    Updated firmware list

FYI updating the NVR is very simple through Smart PSS.

    Setting the Time

I am trying to set the correct time on my NVR and then that time gets propagated out to all my cameras. Is this possible or do I have to have to go to each camera and point it to a NTP Server. I think what I would ultimately like to do is make the NVR my time server, if that is possible and...

    Updated firmware list

I was able to update my firmware on the NVR through smart pss. You just select the DH_NVR*.bin file. It is pretty simple. However, under devices in smart pss I only have the NVR listed. I would like to upgrade their firmware but am not sure on how to update them individually.

    Updated firmware list

Agreed @IAmATeaf I just downloaded the zip file from the site for my NVR. Now I have extracted the zip and there are four files. DH_NVR5xxxx.bin Flash.bin install.lua partiontable.bin What is the recommended way to update the firmware of the NVR? I have researched a bit but there seem to be...

    Tripwires

I get that it is probably best to use each device according to what they are best at, I appreciate the advice. Now when you are setting such events on the camera level, would you login to Smart PSS and setup your tripwires? That might not be the case b/c I can not see where on the camera level...

    Tripwires

I have all my cameras hung (4 Dahuas Turret style) I have them set on my NVR. Things seem to be running fairly nicely. I am curious about setting up tripwires for the front driveway. I really would like to try to find some help on this, and some more information. I am looking for a guide or...

Thank you Forum and a Question about Smart PSS

It has been quite sometime since I have been lurking on here. I just got a new PC which is Windows 10, and finally got that Mac kicked to the curb. I have 4 Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-ZE and I absolutely love them. Thank you very much forum. I got all my cameras from Andy. So now that I have not...

Smart PSS vs Direct Connect to NVR

@aristobrat that's great information. I have been playing with the Motion Detection and I have it recording on motion 24/7 on top of a 24/7 continuous record. That helps when I do open up the NVR playback I can see areas that I immediately want to look at, but it is not very ideal. While I...

Smart PSS vs Direct Connect to NVR

I made a few changes on my NVR directly in particular the setting on the Region for Motion Detection. The part where you un-highlight areas you do not want your camera to register motion. Well I applied those changes on the NVR. Then when I go over to Smart PSS to see if those changes have...

    Motion Detection

I just got my cameras 4 Dahua Turret Star lights up w/ the NVR. I am setting up motion detection just so I can easily see events, and can go back and look at them instead of the 24/7 recording. However, when I do go back and look at the log I have a few issues in Smart PSS. 1. I am only...

    Dahua NVR5216-4KS

Well the nvr that I have does not have multiple Ethernet ports like a poe nvr. That is why I have the poe switch in my setup. I have the 4 Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-ZE Turret Cameras. I love them, I am just trying to figure out how to setup the recording schedule. It looks like to me I have them...

    Dahua NVR5216-4KS

Oh yeah connecting the TV to the NVR is making the setup much easier than using the Web GUI. So my next question is on setting up a recording schedule. Right now my cameras are recording 24/7 with no motion detection. I am assuming that I would want motion detection turned on, but I am not...

Yeah I think that is what I am going to do. Is there a general suggestion/tutorial on recording schedule? I think I have it setup to record 24/7 on all cameras but would like to see where the events happen. I would assume this is pretty general setup, but I have yet to find a tutorial of some...

    Willing to Pay

Yeah just right now with the kids and work I don't feel like I have the time to invest to get it set up properly. I would prefer to pay someone from here as a consultant and just get it all done. I feel like I have a fairly decent understanding just need some professional help lol
