    Dahua AI NVR SMD problems

I personally think its a bug in the firmware, that the SMD events are incorrectly being labeled as MD events. The notifications can be matched to motion detection events in the timeline, while the notification says 'Human motion detection'.

    Dahua AI NVR SMD problems

Like indicated in post #1, that all works. So its indeed something with the NVR. Think factory reset would be the best course of action indeed, thanks.

    Dahua AI NVR SMD problems

Yes did that too. I just got a first SMD event by turning the sensitivity of MD all the way down to 1. I only get the event as a notification in DMSS, but can't find it using AI search or when searching for SMD events by using playback in both DMSS and the recorders GUI.

    Dahua AI NVR SMD problems

Yes did all of that. To clarify, I have over 30 recorders running as a installer, but haven't encountered this problem before. This is also the first NVR5216-EI I've installed for a client who had a NVR5216-4KS2 before which died (after 7 years). Told him that the more expensive unit would give...

    Dahua AI NVR SMD problems

Yes exactly, but IVS by recorder only allows for 4 channels and I'd like SMD on 8 channels... So using IVS instead of SMD isn't really an option. Any tips to try? I've had all IVS rules off and tried SMD but not a single event comes through, not even the ones from the cam with built in SMD.

IVS by recorder does work on one of the old cams, but only with SMD disabled.

    Dahua AI NVR SMD problems

Thanks @Mark_M! Yea I had the yellow MD activated. When I try to activate both, the other gets deactivated. I'll try in MD&Alarm for a while. Motion detection was on.

    Dahua AI NVR SMD problems

Hi, I've got the new NVR5216-EI NVR with firmware DH_NVR5XXX-EI_MultiLang_V4.000.0000000.1.R.230620. Connected are 10 older Dahua cams without AI capabilities (HDW2320R-ZS) and 1 HFW5442TP-ASE. The cams are all added to the recorder as 'Private' (no ONVIF). Now the problem: I can't get SMD to...

Remote connection to NVR without static IP

To update: I've been running an NVR4208-8P-4KS2 connected to a RUT241 and P2P uses just under 7 MB a day when idle (so no viewing). So it's not as bad as other people have said.

Remote connection to NVR without static IP

The Teltonika RUT240 has built in ZeroTier capability and also offers about 25 DDNS services. I did read that since 6 months ZeroTier has a update with ZeroTier Low Bandwidth mode, but I'm not sure if that has been rolled out to the Teltonika routers. I found a provider which offers 5 GB a...

New Dahua DMSS Mobile App Problems

Not too long ago I noticed my phone suddenly displays the 5G icon at the top (while I only have a 4G (LTE) plan, so free plan upgrade I guess?), but since then I noticed the load times on mobile data are a lot longer with DMSS. That's why I forced my phone to use 2G/3G/4G instead of 2G/3G/4G/5G...

Remote connection to NVR without static IP

I've got a location with an NVR without internet connection. I want to place a 4G/LTE router (Teltonika RUT240) with a SIM card and a data plan of 1 GB (which is within the budget). Client only wants to view the cams whenever there has been an event, so very rarely. Now this SIM card doesn't...

    5442 Turrets in black

Based on the pictures they aren't, as the new S3 model fixed focal has a plastic ring around the base. Clients over here (the Netherlands) much prefer black too. Would like for a more budget friendly black option, maybe the HDW3241T-ZAS, so I have options for clients who have less to spare but...

    5442 Turrets in black

ADI Global and ExtraDigital have them, but like I said, only 'some'.

    5442 Turrets in black

They do make them and some shops do sell them, just not Andy. The problem is that when they want to sell a black version of a fixed focal cam, they don't just need to add 1 more stock item, but 2 or 3 (2.8, 3.6 and 6.0 mm lenses).

Point to Point Wireless Bridge Recomendations

While looking for outdoor POE switches I found some Chinese wireless bridges which do claim to be 802.3af/at PoE powered, so you could power them from any POE switch. They aren't Ubiquiti or Mikrotik quality but might be good solution for short range use cases? Any have experience with them...

    Hi from the Netherlands

Am afraid not. The main reason they want them gone is because of the amount of NOx (nitrogen oxides) they produce, but many say the measuring method isn't correct in a way that heavy industries and airports are omitted. I live in a place with many farms around and also close to one of those...

    Best Multiport USB Charging Station?

I've had good results with the Chinese 'Huwder' brand desktop chargers, they also have USB C ports which is getting more and more common these days which could charge macbooks and stuff. Ordered it directly at the time: Huwder 150W PD Charger I can use it to charge my laptop, phone and use my...

Cannot access DVR/NVR over Browser in LAN but ping command is well

Yes definitely try to restart it first thing. Can you access the footage via SmartPSS or DMSS?

Cannot access DVR/NVR over Browser in LAN but ping command is well

Did you ever turn HTTPS on in the NVR? Are you sure the web interface port is still the default port 80? If so, try these: https://192.168.1.108 http://192.168.1.108 :<whatever port it may be> https://192.168.1.108 :<whatever port it may be> Or you could try to use another device to connect to...

    motion detection in NVR

That depends on the hardware you're using. Do you have the exact types of camera's and NVR's used? The minimum bitrate (bandwidth) will be lower for a 2MP cam than a 8MP/4K cam. I'd first reduce the FPS to 10-15, if that's not already done.

    motion detection in NVR

What type of NVR is used and what is the maximum incoming bandwidth? If each NVR has the same amount of cams, that means they have about 26-27 cams each, when motion is enabled the incoming bandwidth could be exceeded. Try lowering the bandwidth of each cam to a point where the video loss...

Multiple HDMI extenders on one network

I see, the dotted line is to indicate the uncertainty of the second link being available. If it is, the link between the Zyxel/TP-link and the Netgears won't be present. Thank you for the clear explaination! VLANs are relatively new for me, but VLAN C should be called untagged then.

Multiple HDMI extenders on one network

Thanks @bp2008 ! Exactly, the Zyxel and TP-Link switches have many other connections to them (respectively 24 and 11 ports, not drawn), but it would only be needed if there was just one cable running between the buildings. If there was another (or if running another is easy enough) I could...

Multiple HDMI extenders on one network

Thank you @SpacemanSpiff ! I'll have to check the amount of cables before deciding what is best. The diagramming 'software' is the free website draw.io with the 'Network' icons enabled in the lower left corner.

Multiple HDMI extenders on one network

Thanks for the great answers! @bp2008 , do you think the following configuration would work? The devices look to be exactly the same as the ones you worked with. (Btw, the client mentioned there could already be multiple cables in place in that conduit, just not used. That's what the dotted...

Multiple HDMI extenders on one network

Great idea, thanks! Only the 'Main' switches are managed, the 'Private' switch in the workplace is unmanaged, unfortunately. Could possibly swap it out for a managed version, or add a small managed switch between them. Another option could be to pull another dedicated cable for just the HDMI...

Multiple HDMI extenders on one network

I've placed two NVR's at a clients house and workplace with about 12 cams on each NVR. The buildings are connected via a single CAT6 cable but both have their own router with connection to the ISP (to keep the business and private apart). This CAT6 cable is connected to a switch which goes to...
