Dahua NVR: I record 24/7 and recently set up and IVS tripwire. Where can I see the tripwire flags in the video?

Is something supposed to show up on the timeline? I turned this on and I don't see anything different.

Dahua NVR: I record 24/7 and recently set up and IVS tripwire. Where can I see the tripwire flags in the video?

The tripwire is working and is emailing me snapshots of who came in the driveway. Now I'd like to be able to see the flagged spots in the actual video but I don't know where to do that at.

Can I have my Dahua NVR send me a picture when motion is detected?

I did have problems with gmail but set it up to use my outlook email and it was working fine emailing me when it detected motion but there was no picture. I am now trying the IVS tripwire method and i think I have it setup correctly but now it's not emailing me anything at all. That's a highway...

Can I have my Dahua NVR send me a picture when motion is detected?

I finally got the email notification set up after a couple of hours of dinking around. I clicked the snapshot box thinking that it would send me the snapshot but after looking into it furth it appears that it only saves a snapshot on the NVR which isn't what I'm looking for. Is it possible to...

Switch to switch and then to router?

I'm no pro (I've only set up one system) but I ran about 4 cameras from my shop to a single switch. That switch then ran to another switch in the house that also had 4 or so cameras on it which ultimately ran to the NVR. Don't quote me on this bet from what I recall I was using nowhere near the...

Is there a way to keep the Dahua web interface from timeing out?

Mine is a bit different but I found this setting. The odd thing is that it was set for 10 minutes but it was definitely staying on for much longer than that.

Is there a way to keep the Dahua web interface from timeing out?

I like to keep the feed up on my computer but it's automatic timeout is frustrating to say the least. Is there a way to disable this or increase it so much that it's not an issue?

Tried that, says it can't be reached.

Dahua camera dropped out and I can't get it back

It was working fine for a week or two and then it cut out. It appears that I can ping it's ip address but it doesn't show up on the NVR. I've unplugged it's ethernet cable a couple times but that didn't work. This stuff is not my speciality so I don't know where to go next.

What should I do with the extra pigtails?

You're right, looking at them again they don't look to bad. Thy're not cheap though considering I've got 10 cameras!

What should I do with the extra pigtails?

I din't really want to go with the big junction boxes that are available for them, but I might have to.

What should I do with the extra pigtails?

I'm mounting my new Dahua starlights and I want to run the wires externally i.e. not drilling a hole through the center of the mount to run them directly through the wall. What is the best practice to wrangle the extra pigtails in a clean and weatherproof fashion? Part of me just wants to cut...

How to adjust the pan on the Dahua starlight bullet cams?

Ahh, thank you! I didn't see that in the manual.

How to adjust the pan on the Dahua starlight bullet cams?

I hope that this is a stupid question and I'm missing something obvious but I'm working on installing my awesome new starlight bullet cams and I can't see how to manually adjust the pan of the camera. There is a collar that allows it to tilt but it keeps it from panning. Please tell me I...

Setting up my new Dahua system and I can't see the cameras on the network

Thank you for all the help guys, everything seems to be going well now. I've succesfully added a camera in the house and the shop so I feel like I've got a handle on everything and now it's just a matter of doing the leg work for the rest of the cams.

Setting up my new Dahua system and I can't see the cameras on the network

I was holding my kid while he took a nap and it came to me! I already ran a line from the house switch to the house router when I was setting it up according the my network map that I though was correct. When you corrected me and told me to connect the two switches together and then to the...

Setting up my new Dahua system and I can't see the cameras on the network

The shop is setup to be an access point. I just did it a couple weeks ago when I got the new router. I did unplug the shop access point from the house switch and the problem persisted. Once I unplugged the house router from the house switch the problem corrected itself and I could access...

Setting up my new Dahua system and I can't see the cameras on the network

I changed the NVR to 192.168.1.120 and my single test camera to 192.168.1.121. I could login to both and view the camera both through it's IP address as well as through the NVR. I then cut the line running from the house router to the shop AP so as to run it through the house switch (per your...

Setting up my new Dahua system and I can't see the cameras on the network

I clicked on "setting" and then changed the start ip to something closer to their addresses and then it found them. I changed the NVR (through the NVR interface) to 192.168.1.120 and then through the IP config tool I changed the camera to 192.168.1.121. I could login into and see it on my NVR...

Setting up my new Dahua system and I can't see the cameras on the network

That's odd... before there was a login page when I went to the 106 address. None of the default username/passwords for the NVR worked which at the time I thought was a seperate issue. Now I'm realizing that it was actually the camera I was trying to login to. Now when I go to the .106 address it...

Setting up my new Dahua system and I can't see the cameras on the network

My bad! That isn't affecting my current situation though as I don't have that part of the circuit hooked up yet. I may have been mistaken, I just assumed it was the NVR... Looking at my list I have something else with "desktop" in it's name using the .108 address. Is this the NVR or is something...

I'm going to start puting my system together tomorrow and I can't find a good tutorial to setup my new Dahua NVR. Could anyone point me in the right direction? i.e. how to pick the right ip address, how to set the right ip address, how to add cameras .etc... Thanks everyone.

Could someone who knows what they're doing looking over my wiring "schematic"?

Thanks for the help Fenderman but I've read that a few times and I'm not sure I follow so I'm restating it below as I understand... The switch in the house and the NVR should be connected to each other without involving the router in the house. The switch in the shop should be connected...

Could someone who knows what they're doing looking over my wiring "schematic"?

I got an awesome new Dahua system from Andy and I'm hoping one of you generous souls could look over my plan to see if I'm correct. I'm hoping this works so I don't have to run new line between the house and the shop. Thank you all.
