    Reolink NTP

just another thought that popped into my head as I've never used the 'nettime' application, I use Windows built-in NTP server. Are there any config settings for that application that will confirm which port is being used for NTP? I just assumed UDP 123 as thats standard port for it.

    Reolink NTP

Definately important info there, I cant say i've followed any of your other threads where this kind of info may have been stated :) I'm going to assume that this PC is a BI PC because that is a common setup that people use for BI and keeing cameras on a isolated network A Question that i have...

    Reolink NTP

it looks like your Dahua cam is also going out to the internet for its time source as you are using "0.nettime.pool.ntp.org" as your NTP server. You need to point that to the IP address of your local NTP server. I dont see anywhere on the Reolink screenshot to do that so perhaps its hardcoded...

    Need help

you may have to define "not working" a little more You didnt specify what kind of test you did on the cable, i.e. You may have continuity on the cable pairs but they may not be wired to standard etc. If its a managed managed switch, are the switchports administratively enabled/disabled? Is PoE...

    Gas prices

at least post brexit you guys have the power to reduce VAT and Excise on fuel now without having to go cap in hand to the unelected EU. Although im sure BoJo is loving the extra coin the treasury is raking in from it. We "got permission" to do so but are still in the top 3 for fuel prices in the...

    Gas prices

thats where we are at in ireland now per litre in Euros. Govt did the same by reducing the tax by 20 cents a litre... some fuel stations immediately increased their prices by the same amount so when the cuts came, they were back to the price they were. Complete price gouging. Stories of people...

    Pre Wire for a friend

without wanting to hijack the thread any further and get into a "show me your rack" situation. I have mine sitting under the stairs. Its a bit of a crappy pic which ive cropped from an old wider image but you get the idea. Everything is still the same apart from i have much more cables (at a...

Ha! I have that exact cabinet (sourced though work for circa €80). It came with a shelf inside also. I have it mounted to my wall and it holds all my net coms & TV distribution gear splendidly. I added a small fan on the top vent powered from a USB port on one of my devices to help keep the air...

    NTP Time Synchronization & Legal

I have NTP server running on my BI machine. The steps in this article will sort you out. Just remember, if you have your BI machine's network access restricted to make sure your BI machine can still poll NTP servers itself (allow UDP 123). I have my BI machine grab time from my router so its...

    BI SSD Average Life

I have an ocz-agility 3 SSD that im using on this PC that i built about the end of 2010 as my gaming PC. When i was running Win7 i used it as a cache drive alongside a wd black spinning rust HDD. When i updated to Win 10 i ended up using the SSD solo as the boot disk (but its only 80GB!!). And...

    Blue Iris Issue

The "Basement" camera is set to record when triggered, the camera at the top of your post is set to continuous recording. Does the issue of "recording clips between 1 and 20 seconds long " still occur if changed to continuous? (assuming the "Basement" camera is the problem cam)

IR Illuminator light not being seen by trail camera.

quite possibly. If the onboard LED's are creating a "hotspot" of light where the camera choses to auto-expose for then its possible that the lower intensity of IR light being reflected back from distant objects wouldnt be bright enough to make a difference. Much like many of the IP cams with...

IR Illuminator light not being seen by trail camera.

:welcome: Random guess. When you are testing with the additional external IR light, is the camera actually set in "night vision" mode? Many cameras have an IR cut filter which will move across the lens during daytime. If your camera has one of these, could it be in a state where the IR filter...

    One cam's ip has changed?

I have to say that I do the same. My cameras dont get anywhere near a DHCP service so manually configured they are :)
  20. Sphinxicus

    One cam's ip has changed?

If your router is handling DHCP, then your router is where you should assign static DHCP mappings. If you are manually configuring IP address per camera then you would need to navigate to each cameras web interface and do so there.

    One cam's ip has changed?

did you have static DHCP mapping for your old cameras but forgot to add a static DHCP mapping for your new camera? The new camera could have got a new address when the DHCP lease expired and the 192.168.0.102 was the new address it was assigned. Ways to avoid it... add a static mapping on...

What the heck is going on with my system?

ok so you have two L3 networks on the same L2 switch. While in theory this should work fine its adding a bit of an unknown to the mix as to how the switches OS would behave when it starts adding MAC addresses for different networks to its CAM table. If that PoE switch is solely to be used to...

What the heck is going on with my system?

This bit worries me without further details. Is your switch a managed switch? Have you configured VLANS for the 10.1.1.0/24 network and the 192.168.1.0/24 network?

What the heck is going on with my system?

I suspect other people are monitoring my Dahua device.

I can't comment on the NVR or DMSS as i dont own one (I use BlueIris) but I would deem any Remote Management software based in someone elses "cloud" unsecure. You need to reduce to number of ways that someone can access your devices in a methodical manner for troubleshooting at the very least...

I suspect other people are monitoring my Dahua device.

They are very open-ended questions. You did not state what device people are "watching" or give any information with regards to how your device is setup and how one would view said device. If we assume a single IP camera which is connected to a NVR or VMS PC, then break it down. Are the...
