ok, let me ask this another way... cloud storage solution hatered aside,

what is the most cost effective service that works with hikvision cubes?

my need is one cam under 100mb (overwritten) under a week retention.

i'm already using microsd but want some not local lan offsite solution.
Buy a 50 dollar pc, run something like blue iris on it and make it cut clips each 30 seconds and upload to google drive or the like...waste of time uploading to the net...recording to a hidden nas is much more effective and efficient..the idea of cloud recording as a good solution is perpetuated by cloud service providers who reap a perpetual monthly fee on this flawed nonsense....also consider that you are sending unencrypted video over the net to some tiny provider...

Hi fenderman,
I read a few posts r/g blue iris, but could not understand much. I'm very interested in setting up a blue iris system, where should I start?
I have an microSD card where footages are saved, but I could not find the option where I can set it as "loop recording" anywhere. Wonder if you or anyone know?
Thanks in advance.

Wondering what settings/camera profiles people use when setting up the camera in tinycampro.

Going to read through thread to see is it there already and if I missed it.

cams firmware was always hikvision...just had the annke logo...
I was dead serious as you seem proud and happy to use hik connect...
start reading the forum..for starters you want to reserve the ip address for the camera so it does not change...then setup a vpn for remote access.
Hi Fenderman

Just getting started on this now as received camera and have it working with Amazon Fire and TinyCam.
updated the firware of the camera and was looking to secure it now.
Below are steps I was planning to take next

Reserve IP address on router.
Lock down ports on camera ?
Place it on VPN if remote access required .

Was wondering what else i might be missing here as just starting out.

ensure upnp is disabled in the camera and router, disable platform services and prevent the camera from having any internet access..

Select HikVision as the manufacturer, and choose the first model option presented. This works fine most of the time.

Keep getting the error

"Video failed (403 - Forbidden) " on TinyCam across 3 devices now

Last time this happened I plugged out camera and left it over night and it mysteriously worked in morning.

Anyone else come across this problem?

Wits end with this thing...

Changed password, Disabled upnp, gateway. Hikplatform services and also tried to get working over WiFi.

Could not login via any of 3 devices using TinyCam getting forbidden errors.
Noticed that was getting locked out "try in x minutes messages" when logging in via browser.

Disabled the wifi and thought maybe it was one of devices was locking it out , so removed camera on all devices. Re-enabled all services on camera.

On Lan now as it was a few days ago when it worked with all services re-enabled with 403 -forbidden errors still on Tiny Cam.
Copy and pasted password to ensure was correct on web portal which allows me in.
About to give up, wasted a full morning on it.

Web portal over http works for both wired and wireless with services disbaled.
Tiny Cam not working on any of 3 devices now with or without services enabled.

Any pointers?

Thanks contacted him.
It's also crapped out on my wife's iPhone which is using the IP cam viewer app.

It done the same day after I upgraded firmware last week and mysteriously worked the next day albeit refused to work on my Android box.

Not getting good vibe about this camera

Then it's not the app.... camera is excellent, it's either a defective unit or user error... reset, change the IP address so nothing you forgot about is trying to log in with the wrong credentials

Thanks I've changed literally everything and have been logging network to see any traffic with Wireshark.

Changing IP is worth a shot

Tried the IP change , rebooted.

Added manually in Tiny Cam via the manual add camera section entering the password there.
Then went to live feed and 403 error.

Camera then locked out in http server too
No devices could have been accessing after IP change until I added in Tiny Cam with correct password which seems to have locked the device.
Very irritating stuff and i bet it's something simple.

Gave up , done everything I could think of with this camera.
Factory reset camera. Tried debugging with Wireshark.
Camera will only authenticate via web.
TinyCam or other apps won't work and authenticate.

Sending it back in it's box tomorrow to amazon after an extremely frustrating weekend.
May be a bad unit but I don't care at this point won't be getting this model again .

Have you checked case sensitivity, length, and upper/lower/number requirements for the name/password and across whatever apps?

I've also had odd cases where things didn't like some particular punctuation or other character I used or some other interface wouldn't pass it in the same way.

Might also try setting up another account via the web and then using that to try to log in and see if the same happens or it's just the admin account.

Have changed the password all right and created a new user account as thought could be an issue. That was as complex as previous password so I will try a simpler password.
