ANNKE I61DR 2MP (Hikvision Cube Clone)

I got mine last week! Updated it to 5.4.5 as suggested. Everything worked as expected.
There is only one annoying point. When conncted via WIFI I'm not able to get the live-stream over
vpn connection. Neither with my android phone nore with my ipad.
Live stream over VPN and LAN connected works as expected. Any idea?

Odd... Just set one up on WiFi here and it does the same.

Over WiFi directly connected via my iPhone, then I can connect to it. Turn on VPN and I can't. I can toggle VPN on/off and it works or doesn't as I flip it back and forth.

I'll use it via BI and it works fine either way under it but that's a different deal. I've not yet updated the firmware on this one. Not sure if that has some effect.

Edit to add...

Think I figured it out... Are you using an Asus router? On my AC68 it seems not to be the camera itself but related to wireless devices more generally. I can't connect to or even ping various other wireless devices on my net with OpenVPN turned on.

Edit to add again...

Apparently more complicated than that. Some wireless devices do work as above. I can toggle back and forth to working or not. Others work either way. Not sure what the difference is. Don't have enough wireless devices that don't work to test it much. The Annke, an older Foscam, and another off-brand cam don't ping with VPN turned on. *shrug*

...Just wait for "Do not use for colonoscopy. Severe pain, bleeding, infection, and/or death may result."

You are a deeply disturbed man smiley1.gif

Thanks a lot for your reply. I only have one WIFI camera but a lot of ESP8266 WiFi Modules running. All of these modules are reachable over VPN even my automower.
Only the ANNKE Camera is not. :(

Do you guys have an auto setting for exposure or just manual? I don't seem to be able to select anything other than manual under the pull-down.

Hi,

I don't think any of my Hik cameras show anything other then manual for exposure.

Don't blame me for having a good imagination and reading too much news. There was a local assault case where a stripper hid her phone where the sun don't shine to hide evidence. No word on whether it was a regular iPhone or a Plus.

Regarding the WiFi and VPN issues. Be aware that the LAN and WiFi devices inside this camera are bridged. If you use the LAN/PoE cable to connect (and you should) then you should definitely disable the WiFi interface. If you're using Wifi to connect, then insure the WiFi and LAN ports have different/unique IPv4 addresses, otherwise you'll definitely have connectivity issues.

My WiFi and LAN ports have different/unique IPv4 addresses!
If connected over WIFI only there is really no VPN access possible.

how would this be outside my front door in a covered porch area, to be used wifi to capture faces of people at the door?...My Dahua cams are great for people as they approach the door, but don't have good visibility once they're there.....ideal solution would be a BlueIris compatible doorbell, but doesn't sound like those options are quite there yet.

Operating Conditions: | -30 °C ~ 60 °C (-22 °F ~ 140 °F) Humidity 95% or less (non-condensing)

You could potentially make this work. I have considered doing this as well. The only issues I can see is that all your connections on the back of the camera are exposed. Even under a covered porch your connections could still be at risk to some of the elements. Not sure if you are planning on using this over a poe connection or WiFi but you may want to check your WiFi connection at your planned camera placement. If you don't have a strong WiFi connection you may need additional equipment to make it work reliably.

ya...I don't really like exposing it to the elements...also, someone can just unplug and steal it...kind of lame solution...was gonna do wifi....that's why a doorbell cam that's Blueiris compatible would solve this...another issue I have is we currently have these older Aicom intercoms that are tied to the doorbell....it's kind of nice to be able to see who's at the door when you're downstairs...so I'm not exciting about giving up that capability too.

I've had two of these in that role for about the last 6 months running POE. They've worked well. They're very well protected though. Lots of ways for moisture into these so I don't think they'd last long in a spot that gets any water. Originally I thought that I could use the the PIR more reliably than image-based motion. Which does work but outside they do get false triggers sometimes for whatever reason. Inside the PIR detection is 100%. IR isn't real strong but it's plenty good at closer distance. Swapped another cam for one recently but think that I may go back to it. These aren't as obvious and blend in a little better when in the best spot. I have other cams watching from other angles so wasn't too concerned with somebody pulling them down.
