Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more!

Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more! 1.6.0

For some reason when I click the update BP2008 files, it gives me error 0x80004005. I cannot overwrite the files. But if I copy and paste the files from the zip manually it prompts me with UAC and then works fine. I get the UAC popup when I start BIT but it doesn't seem to work for copy files into program files anymore... any ideas why?

Try running BIT as administrator, see if that fixes the issue.

Running as administrator was the first thing I tried. It brings up UAC regardless of whether I run it as administrator too - it just seems like when it performs the file copy action it doesn't use administrative privileges anymore?

Mike, I get the same error the last few updates, never had before. I thought it was something I had wrong and simply downloaded from the forum and copied manually, too lazy i guess. Hold on I'll repeat it... Here you go, That simple... :) Latest version of BI, BI-tools and BP's. Just a refresh. If it helps it seems only the image files fail.

Simply go to http://ipcamtalk.com/bp08/bp2008_bi_webserver_files.zip

Download the files. Extract all, and copy the contents of the folder to the /www directory in your BlueIris installation directory. It will work. You will learn a lot doing this... :) It seems automatic installation is broken in BITools. Give Mike some time and he will fix it. I'm not into step by-step-instruction for something this simple.

Wcrowder, there's no reason to be that way. The reason we're asking for support with this, is because part of BIT is broken since it doesn't work like it used too. It's not that we can't do it ourselves, but since someone made a button to do it for us and it doesn't work anymore, we just wanted support to get it working again.

Then do it, and post instructions... :) The author probably has a job, and will fix it shortly. I know I'm being mean, but geese, this is so simple...

Having some issues with BIT (and the bp2008 web files also)

The v0.16.1 files give the following error...just posting here in case others run into it and start on this thread:
An unexpected error has occurred in UI2 (version unknown).
A full refresh may solve the problem (CTRL + F5).

If you wish to report the error, please SCREENSHOT the browser now.

SyntaxError: Unexpected token '.'
URL: http://censored_hostname/ui2/libs-ui2.js?v=0.16.1
Line: 2
Char: 0

I rolled back to the files in https://www.ipcamtalk.com/bp08/bp2008_bi_webserver_files_2016-05-02_v0.15.1.zip and it's back to normal functionality.

As for the BIT issue...I have the weather configuration for here in Austin. Here is a screenshot of the setup and the most recent results:
Screen Shot 2016-05-19 at 10.16.22 AM.png

Now my issue is...these results are incorrect. I run a home automation system (Indigo) that has a plugin for WUnderground data access and I set up the API, etc.
It's been raining in Austin off and on for a few hours now and the precipitation reads 0.00 in BIT but Indigo has it at 1.51 for the day.
BIT doesn't seem to pull down the wind direction...and the speed said 13mph when Indigo was reporting 18mph

It's not a big deal...in theory I could script Indigo to write the TXT files to the Blue Iris server. I'm thinking about doing this anyway so I can overlay each room's temp/humidity on the matching camera view based on the Z-Wave sensor readings in that room.

I just thought I'd mention these 2 things I;m seeing on my system in case others do too and help bring awareness to them...and if no one else is seeing this, maybe get a facepalm moment where I learn I've got something configured wrong. (I have no problem admitting when I've messed up on something...all part of learning.)

are you using the same Wundergound data station for BIT and your Indigo implementation?
ie, could just be different stations not providing the same (reliable) info...

They are both set to the KAUS station...I thought I had typed that in the post, but I must've missed it.

tyr un-checking the 'everything' checkbox? i remember having some issue with that when i set mine up, so i unchecked it, but
i don't remember quite why...

everything.txt is actually the file I'm using for the overlay, but I tried your suggestion and unchecked it, then clicked the Update Weather / Save button. The precipitation.txt file reflected an immediate Modified time of 5/19/2016 11:43 AM but still contained the value of 0.00 for the data.
The Indigo plugin for the WU station KAUS is now reading precip_today as 1.92, so since my 1st post the rainfall amount has increased .41 inches, but BIT has read 0.00 the whole time.

That's why I was wondering if maybe the query from BIT is incorrect...possibly a recent API change from WU? Since BIT hasn't been updated since Sep 27, 2015.

Don't know what it might be

Hi @srkinard - Is KAUS the station ID you are using? If so, that's not a valid ID. so it should give you an error. If you blocked out the station ID for security purposes, can you shoot me a PM with it please so I can investigate? Usually if something is reporting 0 then WUnderground is, but perhaps not.

Just wanted to say thanks for the great tool!

Looking good! You're welcome.

Everyone - I have an update almost ready for beta testing. I've been working so much this year which has taken most of my time. I know I am way past due for an update so will role one out soon!

Not a valid ID? KAUS is the Austin-Bergstron International Airport station and it works with other WU systems I use.

Fortunately my other issue with the bp2008 web files seems to be fixed with the latest update to those.

Yeah you're right, my bad. It didnt work in the URL I tried in my browser but works in BIT. The XML regarding precip. returned for this station is this:

Code:
<precip_1hr_string>in ( mm)</precip_1hr_string>  <precip_1hr_in />

  <precip_1hr_metric />

  <precip_today_string>in ( )</precip_today_string>

  <precip_today_in />

  <precip_today_metric />

Looks like nothing is being returned for these values in the wunderground XML url that BIT uses.
