Dahua Mini Black Face PTZ (SD29204S-GN & SD29204T-GN)

Yea I've started paying attention to the actual sensor size and light capture ability. Like the 2mp starlight ptz has a bigger sensor and obviously better light capture than the closest 4mp non SL version.

Does this translate to daytime quality too though.

the 4MP's usually have very good day time capabilities; comparing my 2MP Starlight to my 4MP Bullet in the daytime the 4MP wins due to better PPF.. but at night the starlight kicks the 4MP's butt as I have shown.. is the benifit of the 4MP worth it? for me, no.. they are going bye-bye.

i have 2 SD29204S-GN. one can't be recognized anymore as a ptz camera in nuuo system. same as onvif manager..no ptz control. i can use all ptz feature from the web menu. i decided to test with blueiris and it works how does blueiris access camera?
any ideas why all of a sudden no more ptz feature.

BI uses ONVIF I believe.. odd one camera works and the other does not; perhaps reset it to defaults and set it back up?

that did the trick.. i use onvif manager to do soft reset. i want to load backup config not sure if the issue was some configuration

Found the issue with my IR this evening. Got out the fluke 175 and diode checked the IR LEDs. They passes. Ran continuity back to the main board (I already tested that it was outputting 12vdc) and found a wiring pin connection out of place. Fixed that and now my IR works perfect!

As expected, the two IR LEDs are in series.

mebe account lockouts; I suggest creating sub accounts for individual viewing apps so they dont end up locking eachother, nor the admin account out.

Mine finally got here after 3 weeks in shipping. Another order still hasn't left china (shipped out same time lol...). I hope it wasn't lost in transit. Can't wait to hook this girl up tomorrow.

The model I got definitely SD29204T-GN.

Would love to see some comparison pics vid of the T to the S just to see if much of a difference at all.

Sadly I don't have an S. I don't know if the other one that's hasn't left China is the same model. If different, I'd definitely test them out but I doubt it.

@nayre has done a great job reviewing the S...so just need some samples from your T.

Yeah but it would have been nice to have a side by side comparison of the same scene.

Great. Exposure settings won't stick on this camera.

edit: Scratch that. Fixed by setting exposure to default. This pic going to be stretched since I'm not too worried about it right now. Darn cat staring into the IR of evil.

I have a lot of the SD29204T-GN models. Having a really hard time with bright spots. I cannot save the settings in the interface, there is not even a "save" button on the screen where I change the settings. The default of "WRD" "HLC" "BLC" are all "Close" and when I change any of those settings to an option nothing happens. When I navigate away and come back to this screen it is back to the defaults of all "Close".

Does anyone have a different firmware, old or new, I don't care that I can upgrade my cameras to that will allow me to change these settings?

For someone that has the SD29204S-GN model. Question here, is it possible for you to export your firmware and make it available for us with the "T" model to upgrade to ours?

Help is appreciated.

Thanks,HLC.PNG

Make sure you try a different browser. What's the firmware version on your version? As far as I recall, there is no save button for most settings. It just automatically does it. If you're having issues, try going to Default (under defog) and reset the backlight settings there. Then see if changes stick.

I have tried IE and Chrome and they give the same screen, can't set or "save" and no changes in any of the options make a difference in the picture. I have been going back and forth with my distributor for days and they sent this photo as instructions. As you can see they have buttons below their preview screen for "default" "refresh" "save". Also their different setting titles are in a different order. I asked them to send a firmware and the .bin file cannot upload to my cameras. I get an no match message. I have uploaded a photo of the instructions they sent (they have buttons I do not have and order is different for the setting options) and a photo of my firmware version. version.PNG from distributor.jpg

reset to defaults, save, reboot try again

I have done all that to multiple camera with no luck. I feel like there has to be a firmware upgrade / downgrade that would have the save buttons.

All help is appreciated, fixing this image quality is very critical to my business. I may have to find another camera model if I am unable to fix this brightness on these cameras. I have not found any other cameras that have this nice of functionality though.

Let me know.
