Dahua Mini Black Face PTZ (SD29204S-GN & SD29204T-GN)

nope, I would hope so but never tried it

I've read through most of the posts and have yet to find a solution to my problem. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Despite selecting every square on at least two Regions, the Motion Detection threshold meter never registers any activity - regardless of sensitivity/threshold adjustments. I'm running the default firmware - 2.212.0000.0.R.A.484.3N.NR, build : 2015-10-23.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this issue?

what browser are you using? is the plugin loading? I dont think you get any activity on the setup page w/out the plugin loaded

Thanks for the reply. The plugin is loading. I'm using Internet Explorer 11 on Win 7 (32bit) (i've also tried IE 11 on Win7 64 bit). All other functions of the camera behave as expected.

This one took and fixed the zooming problem but downgraded the picture quality and interface a lot. I have attached a picture from a good cam vs the firmware just updated. At least it's good to know once we have the right firmware I think the solution will be fixed. Good one obviously has the better lighting and definition.

Hi Nayr, in desperate need of a new Firmware. Impossible to pull down the good firmware from the other camera I was told by an engineer they have it encrypted and password protected. I had uploaded this firmware to my cameras, the streaming is fine. But something is crashing our recordings in our server. Ever since I uploaded this firmware to a number of the bad cameras, our system went all out of wack. This is a big problem for us.

Is there any chance that you have any other firmware version for this camera. I need to try a few others and keep running tests to get our recordings back on track.

Thanks!

Thank you for the information. What ptz are you using?
dahui mini blackface, the one listed in the beginning of the thread. I've also used the huisun mini ptz with the nvr, ptz function works with that also

Can't you "sort of" do something like that with presets...say have it pan and zoom into a particular spot using a preset if motion is detected in a certain grid? I have not used one yet but I thought that was something you could do with presets....So like have a yard cam with full FOV that then pans & zooms to the front door if motion is seen in a defined area....not motion tracking but may be better than nothing.... I may be wrong about how that could work though so somebody correct me if I am.

I don't think so. The tracking of sorts @nayr did was all based on external sensors and his automation system hitting the camera with commands.

I don't own this camera.

Yesterday I received my DH-SD29204T-GN and of course tested it immediatly. I attached a TP-link TL-POE150S to power the camera and it began with a sort of POST.
After this was executed I noticed a strange hearable noise from the camera when it was idle. Maybe it has to do with the PoE injector to deliver the current the camera ask for.

So I switch the power via a 12Vdc adapter (2A) but The camera doesn't boot. (it's a cheap adapter from AliExpress so maybe it has also problems to deliver the expected current) I ordered a 12Vdc 3A to check it out.

Anyone else can hear a sort of noise from the camera when it's idle?

depending on where you park it you may hear the motor whine, it usually fades out or goes away if you move it slightly..

So is Amcrest, (same co. as Foscam now I believe?) doing a knockoff of the 29204?
I'd call it a "Cheap knockoff", but theirs actually costs quite a bit more than the 29204 from AliXpress!
Their "Tech Specs" section is very sparse so no way to really compare full specs.

Just because it looks like a Dahua on the outside, what are the chances it is the same Dahua just rebranded?
Or do all these Chinese factories buy the same shells and stick whatever custom guts into them they please?

Amcrest ProHD Indoor 2 Megapixel Wi-Fi PTZ Dome IP Security Camera- 4x Optical Zoom , Wide 116° Viewing Angle, 2MP (1920TVL), IP2M-846 Black

Dahua manufacturers cameras for AmCrest, pretty much all of em; they rebrand them and resell them under their own label.

Dahua is an OEM, there are many other US Companies selling Dahua's under different names.. Costco does has Dahuas on the shelf, even FLIR/Lorex are really Dahuas.. even the cheap (under $10k) FLIR Thermals are just dahua rebrands.

Amcrest/Lorex/Flir/Swann/EYESUrv and many more are known to rebrand various models if not all of em.

I have placed the camera on a flat surface (indoor) so I have to digitaly flip the picture 180 degrees. I have also tried to physical turn the camera with my hands, but I can stil hear some noise. When I set some strength on the camera body the noise is somewhat adjustable.

But in other words this noise I hear is just the type of camera?
