Dahua Starlight Varifocal Bullet Z5 7-35mm (IPC-HFW5231E-Z5)

Today i have seen that my camera was a little blurry as you can seen on the first pictures.
Look at licence plate ...

Its very strange perhaps the sun can be the problem ?
I have clicked on Autofocus button and problem was resolved.

I looked in the API documentation for a command to set the autofocus but I did not find anything.

Looks like the camera focused on all the green in front in the first image. In the second image it's reversed, all the green growths in front are fuzzy. The API for adjusting focus, triggering auto focus and getting the current focus value is described in section 13 in the Dahua HTTP API for IP version 1.56.

Any photos of how to mount the camera parallel to a wall or would I need a special mount? IE. Can the bracket be at 90 degrees to the camera itself?

Thanks CB8 but how can i block the focus on this camera ? Why does the camera change its focus on its own?

When i reboot the camera , the camera is doing autofocus ... i cant have a manual focus when i reboot the camera autofocusing automatically ...

I set my focus here on this page. I set the bar and left it. Hasn't changed day or night same focus. I have the HFW5431E-Z5 though, but it shouldn't be different. At first I was getting out of focus here and there but I'm also using blue iris and had screen controls on in the settings, I disabled all control through blue iris and focus has not changed.

Does the camera refocus when switching between day/night profiles, or switching between color or black/white?

Are you accidentally triggering refocusing when viewing the camera remotely? I'm using Blue Iris and at first I had the PTZ controls enabled which was really annoying whenever I was using the mobile app as I it was too easy to accidentally trigger refocusing from the app every now and then, so I disabled the PTZ controls in Blue Iris.

If the auto-focus is triggered whenever you switch between day/night profiles then maybe playing around with the settings in section 14.5.1 of the HTTP API may work. To be specific, changing the Mode attribute to 4, though I haven't had much success trying to adjust options listed in the HTTP API that weren't already exposed in the Web UI.

Hello
focus is moving during the day during day profil mode. For exemple at 9AM picture is good and at 11AM picture is little blurred.
Very strange

When you reboot the camera , refocusing automatically.

I have an IPC-HF5431E-Z5 that I'm going to sell. Decided I need the extra zoom of the Z12 model for my location. Asking $200, shipped to continental US. Anyone here interested?

NOTE that this is the 4MP model.

So comparing to the other available cams:

1. The Z12 has a wider range of zoom available so may be more flexible for placement, right?
2. Is there a turret style coming with similar zooms to the Z5/Z12?
3. What about an LXIR/EXIR version?

So, if I get a map of my house, is there an easy way to map coverage and make sure I am getting the right cameras for the right locations?

Have you checked the video to see if there's any hints to what's triggering the re-focus? I have only done limited testing of my Z5 for LPR. Waiting for a Z12 to see if I can get a slightly better view. I just recently left the Z5 at my front door for testing, but so far I haven't had any issues like that, though my focal point should be easier for the auto-focus to nail every time. Maybe if you can re-frame the view slightly to get less of the green bushes?
