Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I havent tried to do any IVS setup through the NVR, works fine if you set it up directly on the camera and just schedule smart events on the NVR for that channel.

in general trying to setup cameras through the NVR is minimal, alot more options and stuff are exposed on the camera's direct WebUI config

Can't say it enough. The guy is solid. Very reassuring. Huge asset to have in your corner. Seems too good to be true, but it is. It's hard to find this level of customer service half way around the world, language barrier and all.

I've found the quickest response from Andy is via the message center on Ali Express
2nd would be a PM (conversation) from here, IPCT
3rd, just send an e-mail to hardworking.andy@gmail.com

$5 says B&H shows stuff in stock and then orders it from one of Andy's peers before forwarding it on to you at some level of markup. Vendors on Amazon have done this as well..

As nayr points out, they are an authorized distributor....full warranty and they are VERY clear when something is special order and will take a while. They run a legit business unlike amazon that knowingly allows third party sellers to defraud its customers...They only sell dahua USA models, not international models we are getting via Andy.

How are you going to get that 5 bux over to nayr?

That's the 3rd report of this for the starlight cameras and 52xx nvr. I've forwarded the info to Andy and he will hopefully be able to provide some feedback.

Make that 4.

Unlike @slowhand23 none of my 5 HDW4231R-Z are able to be configured through the NVR, via SmartPSS or the Web Interface (these might be a separate problem). Ended up configuring it the way @nayr suggested through the cameras web interface and setting the NVR to record smart events.

I received the 5231RP-Z S2 I ordered a couple of days ago. I haven't got it properly installed, but have got to say the low level light performance is astounding- even when locked in day/ colour mode and at 1/25 second.

I've got a feeling it's going to put my Hikvision 2CD2342WD-I to shame. (I'm using them locked in day/ colour with a couple of 10W LED lights.)

Hey Guys,

Now waiting to pay dahua full money for the IPC-HDW5231R-Z, this week may get 150pcs i think, all already at their warehouse, but their financial system has a big change right now, waiting instructions to pick up the goods have 7days delay till now, and new orders placed to them also have 10days delay. All because our National Tax system has a big change this year, dahua also have to make some changes.

If all OK Wednesday/Thursday can be released.

Thanks again for the update Andy! :)

Got mine as well! :D

i'm glad, I kinda laughed even though I was pissed, because the wife asked me if I had a camera pointed at it, nope, my overview camera is in china getting fixed (i hope) and my ptz isn't up yet, and I don't even know what I'll use for LPR, waiting on nayr's review of the 35mm's.
