GMAIL Failure? Anyone Else?

Here is hot off the press from hikvision "As of last week, Gmail turn off their SSL security and only go with TLS. This creates an issue with our unit as our unit can only use email that has SSL security. We are still working on this issue at the moment. AOL might work for email as of right now but we haven’t tested it further to guarantee that it will work."

I've got the latest version of firmware on box and units so it makes no difference. Yandex does work for me. Guess we are not crazy but this is ridiculous I nearly wiped my units trying to resolve this. Considering. How much time I killed trying to get the units to work the way I wanted originally this is a mess.

hey um dont know what this means but my three cameras just this hour sent through motion notifications after not working since 4 days ago.

Mine have the attachments.

Can only mean google re enabled SSL having pissed off the entire world??

Anyone else got any updates?

your advice on 5.4.0 was good advice.

i'll like to pick your experiences on the latest for the 4mp and 3mp domes and cubes but i'll post a specific thread.

i have bug issues wirth both but i am using often full suites of line/intruder/email notification/ notify surveillance ivms 4500 and so forth.

Both of my cams stopped emailing for about a week, and last night they just started working again with gmail. Odd.

I hope todays release of the 5.4.0 firmware and my post today is pure coincidence!!!!

Unfortunately the popular EXIR turret 2CD2332 camera is not listed in the (extensive) release notes of this firmware version. If someone can verify compatibility of this firmware 5.4.0 with the camera 2332, that would be helpful.

Now we have to wait for the NVR firmware as well.

v5.4.0 cannot go on the DS-2CD2332-I. It's not an R6 camera.

Camera 2cd2332 is an R0 platform camera and they have indeed released a 5.4.0 firmware for the whole R0 line of cameras (and other Rxxx platform cameras).
Beware that the firmware versions 5.4.0 are different between the various Rxx cameras. They all have the same number but the content of the firmware is different.

Only if you want either of these two possibilities

1) Camera in Chinese and probably won't talk properly to your NVR anymore
2) Camera bricked

These updates are only for the European versions what about for the US sold models? Is it just a matter of language or...?
