Hikvision - Clearing Passwords and/or Loading Firmware via TTL Serial

Ex:

c23186081--> A43196021

The idea to change the serial number code: c23186081 of DS-7104HGHI-F1 to other serial code. Ex: c23186081--> A43196021

Maybe by this method : How to - Fix your 15-beep-bootloop Hikvision DS-76xxN-Ex NVR, or convert to EN and make it updatable
But I do not know where that data is held on a DS-7104HGHI-F1
Would this method (usb->ttl firmware push) work, if trying to reanimate a DS-2CD2021G1-IDW1, that has been password locked and promtly forgotten ? Since Hikvision Europe is a brick wall, for all the support it gives and for some reason, even though it has a damn reset button, it won't work.

Edit: any reason why the reset button (next to the card slot) would do nothing? What I did: power off the camera, push the reset button in, power the camera on, keep holding the reset button for 20 seconds or more, let it go. It should supposedly show up as inactive in SAPD, but it still reports as active and can't do anything to it. Firmware 5.5.60 build 180711.

That's the correct method, it should work.
If you can figure out the right firmware for your camera - maybe this is it - DOWNLOAD EU PORTAL - the Hikvision tftp updater if its active will result in a camera reset to defaults.
Ideally the same version - though the 5.5.60 isn't in that list.

It doesn't seem to do anything via tftp either, though I will try it again later. Worst case, I'll take it to pieces and see what is going on inside, maybe the reset button isn't working right in the first place?

Edit:
1. reset button is electrically functional, just not doing anything to actually reset the damn thing.
2. removed the cell battery from the board, tried to reset it then, still no joy.
3. Tftp updater: nope, doesn't update.

Since hikEU still doesn't provide the reset file, no choice but to attempt the firmware push via the board.

Anyone do this for a 7700 series. Can’t seem to find the serial port on the main board.
Do I just connect it to the d9 plug at the back of the unit?

Ah ok. Cause I did try my serial ttl to USB and it wasn’t connecting on putty.
will go out and buy a null modem cable and try that. Just hope I got a serial port on one of my PCs.
