I emailed Andy, hopefully he will be able to help me with some direction.

I'm also a bit bummed that Fall Break is over and I will be going back to work tomorrow. I got a lot done with getting these installed and set up over the last week, but would have liked a couple more days to have messed with them.

Just watch the load on the power supply and what the voltage drop might be on the cable supplying the IRs and camera.
Yea, I would be running a dedicated line to the camera if I went this route. It's a 5a power supply with 40w of IRs on it right now. I should be fine adding this, but would possibly go a little bigger if I added it.

I'd go a little bigger. You'll be at four, plus/minus, amps with a camera added to it. I like "headroom" of 50% minimum but you may feel differently.

I am finally getting back to working on my LPRs and can't figure out what the issue is with not getting consistent captures of the car/plate within the frame. Or why it takes shots of the front of cars with no license plate.

This is what I am wanting to happen, let me know if it is possible:
  • BI detects motion in the FOV and sends the image to CP.AI.
  • CP.AI verifies there is a plate in the frame and posts the image as an alert.
  • The license plate information is burnt onto the image, file name, etc.

Below is what I am getting, and most of the blank captures were triggered by a plate but this is what UI3 is displaying.

These are my settings and I have ALPR turned on in Global Settings.

It appears I did not have the LP module installed in CP.

My AI Analyze list is completely blank?

I clicked the button at the top of BI.

So, I had this issue before and completely forgot that the behavior is this way. I am trying to view all of this through UI3, but it does not present itself the same way as natively within BI.

If I click "Alerts" in UI3 I will get the video clips.
If I click "All Clips" in UI3 I will get some half-assed attempts at grabbing the plate.

If I click "Alerts" in BI I will get the entire list of alerts for all cameras and the stills I am looking for are buried in there. Is there a way to get them to populate in their own list or are they locked to the Alerts tab? Or to get them to work the same way in UI3?

Because you requested it.

I have them set up in separate groups, but I do not get a still capture of the license plate. I only get a 3 second video in Alerts or an absolutely non-useful still capture in All Clips.

Where do I find this image?
