PTZ1A225U-IRA-N 2MP 25x Starlight

What is your ambient temperature? It's been around 21c here in the UK where we are today and the camera shows around 41c - don't worry about it if the fan is working and the camera isn't crashing then it should be stable.

Hi
Thanks @reverend
I'm in same configuration as you (20°c)
Camera is stable, it run all night without issue
I should put this camera in very hot area (40°c all day), hope i will not have issue

I received my 2nd camera today. First thing I noticed is that the plugs on the J-box came right out. Dahua must have got some feed back and corrected the problem. I will try and get it mounted tomorrow. I have already changed the address to match my NVR and made some other small changes.

Picked up a bargain 48 port Dell Powerconnect 7048P from eBay for $55 which supports 802.3at and it's powering this camera nicely (you have to manually enable high power mode on the ports for cameras like this).

The plan is to replace my existing Avaya 5520-48T-PWR with this and that way I can potentially get away with injectors until this goes bang :D

Dumb question but how do you flip the image on this camera if mounted upside down? I mounted one upside down but it does not have enough movement to flip the camera over and I can not find the setting in the web UI.

I've not seen it mentioned elsewhere but there is a newer firmware on the Dahua site from late December 2017 (the previous version I had installed was November 2017).

https://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/productDetail/17991

[NTSC]DH_SD-Eos_EngSpnFrn_N_Stream3_V2.622.0000000.5.R.171228
[PAL]DH_SD-Eos_Eng_P_Stream3_V2.622.0000000.5.R.171228

I have updated mine here and will see how it goes once I get it up today (it's the same version number for the 59225 now too).

Only a couple of obscure bugs fixed with this update. No enhancements listed in release notes. Since it lists 2 separate firmware files, I will wait until newer firmware is released that includes the NTSC/PAL option as used in the 5231.

I'm seeing some strange auto tracking behaviour currently on this 1a225u:

It's boring but the auto tracking kicks in and then totally misses the target twice - maybe the similar contrast is causing problems for it?

The two sections are at 0:43 and 3:25 and other than that it's tracked nothing else today.

The weather hasn't been great out today but I'll do some walk arounds tomorrow.

I've been using the 1A225U with OpenALPR for the last week and it's been really good even capturing plates at night time, however the focus drifted in and out quite a few days when switching between day and night - a quick press of the focus button in the web viewer would sort it.

Typical auto-tracking weirdness.
