Recommended WIRED ip cameras

I am looking for some wired IP cameras to run with TinyCam Pro.
What I want to do is use them attached to a wireless extender (TL-WA855RE; has an ethernet port) and can add a POE injector. I currently have some Wyze V2's using these extenders in wireless mode fine.
My issues with the Wyze - and for that matter all the other wireless cameras I've seen - is they all want/need internet access even after they are setup.
For security I do not want to allow any internet access by the cameras. I can get remote viewing/access via Tinycam.

I would pick a few wired cameras like reviewed here, and use VLC or your browser to view them
There are a lot of reviews of cameras from $40 to a $2000.

Read the Wiki, the Cliff notes, and other threads around here and you will get tons of information for free.
A real computer is a lot better and easier then trying to use a phone.

Wirelesss wifi cameras are not for security or surveillance. It is very simple to jam a wifi signal. They are ok for watching the bird feeder or the deer walking across your yard.
Start with one good variable focus camera.
If you insist on wifi go for 5GHZ it is less crowded.

Quick start
1) If you do not have a wired monitored alarm system, get that first
2) Use Dahua starlight cameras or Hikvision darkfighter cameras if you need good low light cameras.
3) Start with a good variable focus camera, so you test for the correct lens,lighting, camera placement.
4) use a VPN to access home network (openVPN)
5) Do not use wifi cameras.
6) Do not use cloud storage
7) Do Not use uPNP, P2P, QR, do not open ports,
8) More megapixel is not necessarily better.
9) Avoid chinese hacked cameras (most ebay, amazon, aliexpress cameras(not all, but most))
10) Do not use reolink, ring, nest, Arlo cameras (they are junk), no cloud cameras
11) If possible use a turret camera , bullet collect spiders, dome collect dirt and reflect light (IR)
12) Use only solid copper, AWG 23 or 24 ethernet wire. , no CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum)
13) use a test mount to verify the camera mount location. My test rig: rev.2
14) (Looney2ns)If you want to be able to ID faces, don't mount cams higher than 7ft. You want to know who did it, not just what happened.
15) Use a router that has openVPN built in (Most ASUS, Some NetGear....)

18) Camera Sensor size, bigger is general better Sensor Size Chart
19) Camera lens size, a bigger number give more range but less field of view. Which Security Camera Lens Size Should I Buy?
20) verify your camera placement, have a friend wearing a hoodie, ball cap and sunglasses looking down approach the house, can you identify them at night ?
21) DO NOT UPGRADE your NVR or camera firmware unless you absolutely have a problem that needs to be fixed and known what you are doing, if you do you will turn it into a brick !!

If you scan a QR code or enter a UID number, then you're setting up P2P (Peer to Peer) which is another word for the cloud and yes, Internet access required for that.

Consider the Amcrest IP2M-841, a re-branded Dahua. It is ONVIF compatible, provides RTSP, is 1080p, IR, 2-way audio plus mike in/speaker out, has pan/tilt/digital zoom, record to micro SD card, wired or wireless and has alarm in/out, great with Blue Iris, VLC, etc. Comes with wall/ceiling mount, 1/4"-20 tripod mount female insert on bottom. Available in black or white for under $40 !

It can operate on your LAN-only network environment; no Internet access needed. Log into it's webGUI, disable P2P and you're golden.
It has 2 IP's, one wired, one wireless, you make 1 of them the default and change that IP to static.

I've installed 4 of the V2 versions and 3 of it's lower-res (720p) cousins in the last 4 years and all have functioned with no hiccups.

I currently use 3 of them with Blue Iris; 1 on front porch to look at deliveries, 1 in garage and 1 in sunroom to watch the dogs; two of the 3 is operating on Wi-Fi. I have also set one up with Tinycam Pro on a Sony smart TV (Android).

VERY hard to beat for $40, IMO.

EDIT #2 of 4/1/21: V3 does NOT provide relay I/O nor jacks for an external mic and speaker.
