Reolink - good & bad

Yes because they are lazy and dont want to spend money...then they lied to their users...
you are not understanding direct to disk, that is why your cpu is high...
go read the forum and help file and learn about it..then go set it up for EACH camera in blue iris...you must set this option as well as hardware acceleration to lower cpu dramatically.

Yes, figured I was not understanding that right, where is the help forum? CPU is between 15% low and 25% at max.

Thanks a lot though, this is much better than the reolink software, BI thought of everything, great software at an amazing price. Go Ken.

Ok, direct-to-disc less CPU usage but cannot record with this option?

Right now it is Re-encode with settings:
H264 - H.264/MPEG-4 AVC

What is ideal CPU %?
of course you can record with direct to disc...that is what everyone does...

Information being sent is logged by firewall I use:
Firewall Software by GlassWire
Thanks for that tip.
Here is a screen of my network, not seeing any thing bad happening...

I have 12 mixed brand cameras connected to BI, and they are direct-to-disk recording and my cpu is about 45%! Without the direct-to-disk enabled , will be over 100%...
As for the file format i have it at : blue iris dvr option.
I am recording 24 hr's a day. Is there other option to edit to make the cpu even lower?
What are your settings for Max Rate? under "video tab"?

Thanks,

I am not sure if you can view it in the free version, you have to go to "usage" tab in glasswire click the apps, and then click the "hosts" tab to see what they are sending to where.
BI is also sending out some type of information to "blueirissoftware.com it says 570 B out and 392 B in.... What would that be?

Sorry I misunderstood this statement "it will not record anyway when using direct to disk"

Great question, if anyone has more tips on how to setup BI it would be great.

Reolink being used with BI is not the best, seeing some jumping/lagging in video, not smooth like with the reolink software. I need to look into the settings to fix this, I know there was a thread about it, I just need to find it and I will share it here for anyone else interested.

Having issue with BI, probably due to reolink settings
That statement was referencing the time-stamp

Ok - that makes sense, timestamp is hardcoded on reolink and records so it is ok.

But I'm having issue with BI, probably due to reolink settings... Even when recording and playing back it will skip, it went from 1:08 to 1:14 skipping over 5 minutes of recording.

Does anyone have the settings to use Reolink with BI without losing any quality?

I want to also make it clear to anyone reading - I WISH I DID NOT purchase reolink and went with a different setup, it would have been much easier and better, you cannot even shut off the IR lights with reolink!

Terrible camera.
Is not this to turn off the ir night vision ?

and from what i see my 410 works fine...no lagging, in recording or alerts, etc.
There was new firmware , and maybe that fix it...but i never had any problems with it.
But for sure i will not buy another...

Patrocle, no the IR is hardwired and cannot be shut off.

I have the 411 - terrible lag with BI, I know there are settings I need to change to fix this, I need to find them.

I am not sure about what you are seeing in glasswire, my entire point was that the Reolink software was sending info to China.

your cameras are not feeding blue iris...your nvr is...

Ok so the settings I seen for BI with a reolink camera won't matter, need to find one for the NVR? That could be the reason why reolink support said you cannot use the NVR with reolink.

What cameras work well behind a NVR with BI with no issues, my friend purchased Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z from a member here and he likes it and it works well but he only has 1 camera, no NVR.

Blue Iris is amazing, anyone thinking about it just go for it - $60 is nothing for what you get.
Purchase Blue Iris

If anyone has any insight or tips on how to run the reolink 411 in bluiris behind the reolink NVR I'd really appreciate it, currently living with the jumping but cannot go back to reolink software. :)

Thanks

the settings in the nvr is what matters...and how well the nvr can handle sending multiple streams...or you can try using a switch..
