Review - TOP-201 Super Mini 720P HD IP-Cam (The Cheapest IP Cam So Far !!)

So is any of these capable outdoor at night? (with what extra enclosure if any?) or indoor pointing outside behind glass window pointing outside at night? (with or without external IR illuminator?) Is anyone running with such a setup?

lighting condition from dark to very very dark (little light from street light)

Or at least any of them as good or as bad as the low end dahua/hikvision? at night. Don't really care about daytime performance

Works fine for me, seeing as I'd just ordered the camera I thought it might be worth updating my 2014 firmware to the latest one. No issues as far as I can tell.

My Top201 came with a verifocal lense. I can only seem to make it focus put maximizing it out. Can anyone teach me how to use it? The two adjusting rings are T and W.

Did you try loosening the set screw and screwing the whole lens in or out a little bit. My Top 201 varifocal wouldn't focus at widest angle until I did that.
 
Has anyone mounted one of the TOP-201 in a bullet housing yet? If yes, which ones? I like to move a few of mine outdoors.

Is it possible to view camera image using "tiny cam", "ipcam view" (freeware android program) using mandatory, compulsory login and password?
Long story
Recently I bought camera similar to Top201 but with PTZ and audio. I search this forum and found.... rstp://[ip address]/onif1 and I was able to see camera image on my smartphone. without PTZ, without audio, and _without_ login and password. And I must open and forward 2 ports to view camera image outside my local wifi. So everybody can view camera image without login and password. But few days ago, I accidentally discovered, that my camera is 100% compatible with vstarcam (bla bla bla) I chose vstarcam inside "tiny cam" on my smatphone and program ask me for login and password! So now I can view camera image using freeware program, I have access to PTZ, audio... WITH login and password. I close oniv and rtsp ports, so nobady can view camera image without login and password. IS it possible with Top 201?
XMeye is not good, because battery drain, and unable to view image from other producent cameras.
 
Thanks a lot! Its working for me too, but only in IpCamView. I prefer TinyCam (faster and better PTZ) and there is not Hisung in camera list in Tiny Cam.

is there a update of the top-201 camera?

today i have installed the app tinyCam. Standard the quality is good, but i dont want that. Because i have 4 top-201 camera`s and they are slow in the app. I always use vmeyeSuper and there you can set sub stream and realtime. That works good. Now i can only change channel, but there is only 1 channel. You can set it in CMS resolution D1/CIF is the extra/sub stream with low quality. I now have set in the app tinyCam protocal JPEG. But that gives me 1 fps. that must be more ofcourse. But i can only set Snapshot protocol, the others doesnt work.....

use this in tinycam, but you have not live main stream!

When you watching camera image using vmeyesuper, and want to _immediately_ shut down program, when you press "back" button or "home" button, program will shut down, or remain in background draining battery? (XmEye can work few hours in background and make my battery empty)
2. many programs can show you camera image using rtsp://IP_OF_CAMERA//user=username_passwor....... but this method force you to open few ports and work WITHOUT login and password.

1. vmeye supports the top-201. dont know if it supports other camera`s If you want shutdown the app, you must press the home button, and then kill the app in the "shortlist, where you kills the background apps" then it kills not the battery. I have connected a tablet on the wall with power always on. But indeed it take a lot from your battery

2. dont know what you mean, i have now the problem that i only can view on 1 device. you mean that? i have other devices, but i can not use the RTSP link :S
 
I have 3+8 cameras. download and run OnvifClient forma ndroid hapytimesoft.com. This is ugly program, but can find all cameras inside local network, find working sentence... rtsp://192.16..... and can show you camera image WITHOUT login and password. Inside local network... there is no big difference with or without password. but if you want to see camera image from outside, you must open and forward at least onvif and rtsp ports for each camera. And anybady who know your ip can scan potrs and.... view camera image witout password.

Use fing app for dicover ports on devices
Use VPN server for login you own wifi home networks so you have not set ports. Only you can view it. But if you are on 3g/4g etc you can not view it.

i guess you are looking too for a better APP ? vmeyesuper is good, but if the wifi connections fails you get relogin error. It goes not autmoatically connect. So i hate that.
