Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

the quality is not there as we have seen in the nightime shots...
Fender man, I saw some of the poor images in this thread. I am unsure if any of them are for the model in question, particularly since they are branding it as “New.”

Can you, would you be kind enough to, direct me to any images from the model/s in question (6003 or 6013). I can still cancel my order at SECURE LIFE, as they are still waiting on Hikvision for inventory.

They are all exactly the same...the 6003 you purchased is exactly the same unit as the one with issues in this thread...dont trust anything an aliexpress seller tells you...they will say anything to make a sale.

Fenderman, Thanks much. Noted. So, my last query on the subject is what would you recommend for me? I want a doorbell video camera that will link to my WiFi (8’ away), that has full duplex audio (not “walkie-talkie style), that is powered off my existing (or new) transformier and can be configured in Blue Iris.

a quality unit like that does not exist....some use doorbird, but its way too expensive and i dont know that two way audio works well....see thread...
best option for now is to buy a ring or similar...you dont need the cam itself to record to BI, you should have a true ip camera mounted at the front door...

Is there any doorbell replacement camera currently out there that can record to BI or are they all proprietary requiring paid cloud recording?
And are they all WiFi only?

there are a few...doorbird - 720p overpriced and firmware issues...axis has a nice unit - way over priced...some are poe...
there are some others as well..but likely wont work reliably....you dont need the recording from the doorbell if you have an overhead camera at the front door...
skybell charges no monthly fee for 7 days of recording...i think ring is 3 dollars a month.

Thanks
You think Ring \ skybell are better options than this model?
I just don't get why anyone would sell such a camera with the IR glare this one seems to show posted here.

Right now just looking for an affordable "better than nothing" option for my mother's home who lives alone that I and other family members could get alerts for anyone coming to the door.
The others in the family do not want to put in much funds for a real system and proper cameras so looking for the best of the cheap \ quick options for now.

Thanks

I have a SkyBell HD purchased earlier this year and it works OK. I like the free storage aspect which is why I went with this over the Ring Video Dorbell.

I'm not crazy about the performance of the app (iOS). The motion and button press notifications are instantaneous, however then it takes some time after having received a notification that I am able to view the video. This delay can be up to several minutes.

I hope this helps.

Thanks. I'd say much of any delay to view the video would make it unappealing for its purpose.
These doorbell cam commercials all show a guy ringing a bell and some woman on the couch instantly viewing who is there and talking back and forth which would be great but it seems like a total marketing fantasy.
If someone rings the bell my mom is not going to wait very long to check the door and no one is going to stand there that long outside waiting for a response.

It did work that way in the beginning and I don't know what happened, but it doesn't work like that anymore.

Note that I haven't tried troubleshooting the issue.

Another option is this Grandstream GDS3710 http://www.grandstream.com/sites/default/files/Resources/datasheet_gds3710_english.pdf
its available for 309 via ebay and is certified onvif S compliant, poe. As far as how well it works? who knows...
This seller seems eager to provide support posting his phone number/whatsapp info...so if you are really interested you might be able to get it testing with BI if he will test it or provide remote access to it and help you interact with it....if it works well, he will sell a ton of them. Grandstream GDS3710 with 1 Year Factory Warranty~Please Read My Entire AD | eBay

Howdy fellows, a gentleman from slickdeal asked me to share my experience with this particular doorbell. I found this doorbell to have a lot of potentials, but the current app is very lacking. I have the laview version, which I purchased for $99. Here's my take.

Pros:
1. Excellent video quality. I previously have the Skybell HD, but it did not work for me because my house is facing the sun. The image on the skybell HD tends to be very dark during the day time, but excellent at night because I have a good porch light. With the Laview bell, I can adjust the image to address this issue.
2. 24/7 recording when connected to an NVR.
3. Greater control when it comes to motion detection. But only when connected to an NVR.

Cons:
1. It's unusable unless you have an NVR. The app is very basic and is missing a lot of features such as: picture adjustment, motion sensitivity adjustment.
2. You CANNOT dismiss the notification on laview connect! You have to tap on the notification to open it on the app to get it dismissed.
3. You CANNOT silent the ring. There's no option on the app to silent it on your phone, there are lots of ring options, but none of them work. To silent it on your phone, you must turn off your media volume manually.
4. How the bell rings: When you press the bell, you get a busy signal instead of the bell ringing from the outside. Very absurd choice of tone.
5. Two way communications: I think this is relating to the app, there's a huge delay. It works poorly. (it is NOT my wifi signal, I have full wifi signal)
6. I have the opposite problem from my Skybell HD. Picture is great during the day time, but terrible at night because I cannot turn off the IR. I looked everywhere on the NVR but cant' seem to find the option to turn off IR. If I can turn it off, the picture quality is great.

Can you share where you were able to purchase this wifi doorbell for $99? I only see $199 on the laview website.

Hi Pilot04,

It was a cybermonday deal. ( on the LaView website )

Gotcha. That is a great price. At least we know the upcoming firmware update will address some of the initial reported shortcomings with this wifi doorbell.
