Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

Well, he certainly doesn't want to be seen.

I think it could be almost anything.
A canister with a lever actuator as opposed to the top button of a paint spray.

Yeah, all I could think of was that home made gun from "No Country For Old Men" :wtf: Like they guy went off and did a job and then came back.

When he comes back, the canister is retrieved from inside the left side of the jacket, as opposed to from Screenshot from 2017-10-30 17-01-42.png the right hand jeans pocket where it was when he went away.

Ive been thinking about a doorbell cam but i see this one is under performing. I have an enclosed porch that already has 1 cam but its not in the best position or angle. I wonder if the ir lights from that one might help this doorbell cam. The cam would be pointed at it at a 90 degree angle.

Should i take a shot or look at another product? Id need something that can run off existing doorbell wiring and be BI compatible.

Hi,

Been reading a lot about door bell cameras, and it looks like very little currently available which would provide the sort of quality image and reliability I would like to see in this market segment. It maybe a couple more generations of product before the competition produces something I would like to buy.

Does anyone have any information on the NA-KB6013-WIP model from Hikvision? It looks similar but not sure on the specs.

From the picture Alastair posted it looks like a spray can with a plastic clip on trigger to make it into a spray gun. Any new graffiti in the area?

The kennycloud clip wouldn't open for me. Android phone if it matters.

Noticed on amazon reviews people noted some negatives below. Do the LTS/Clare/Hikvision sw exhibit same symptoms?
- no motion sensitivity settings for motion like ring, this is a false alert nightmare during day. Had to turn alerts off.
- automated message tells person at door "sorry subscriber you dialed is not available, please dial later" if you don't respond, I thought these devices were made so a person doesn't know you are not home. If you ignore bell (press hang up button in app), the visitor will hear " subscriber you dialed is busy...."
-if it loses connection to your wifi, it tells whoever is standing something like "No Platform Available".

I can help with the first one...:

1. You can adjust the area where you want motion and sensitivity, but you have to configure it using NVMS7000 for computer (just like with an IP camera). Use SADP to detect and assign IP to the doorbell, then add it to NVMS7000 (or ivms4200) then Device management->Remote Configuration will allow you to access the menu.

I have the original Ring doorbell my wife purchased as a Christmas gift a few years back and this thing is terrible (slow, cloud dependent, fees). I also have been watching the market for a replacement that will work with my existing BlueIris setup (No cloud dependencies) and was excited to see this thread. Really sad to see the IR glare and no ONVIF/web configuration. Hope Hikvision team sees this thread and makes improvements on the next version of their doorbell cam.

I think we are all in the same boat as you.

On the Clare Controls version:
1) there is motion sensitivity and motion area selection using the browser app.
2) when pressed, you hear the doorbell ring then you hear two sounds like a phone busy sound. If no one answers, you get sorry no one can answer your call.
3) if you loose internet, it states that it lost connection to the Clare Cloud.

I've been performing experiments and almost ready to send a request for firmware modifications, like having an option to turn off these voice notifications.

I received mine yesterday. Installed it today. I'm worried about how it's going to behave in IR mode tonight because my doorway means that the right 25% of the image is blocked by the brick facade on the front of my house. I'm sure that's going to result in all kinds of glare, too. I might make a block or something to mount behind it to extend it out from the wall another two inches.

I don't allow any of my cameras to reach the internet directly, either. They're only allowed to communicate with my Blue Iris server. So once I had the doorbell configured, I turned off its internet access. Part of that configuration involved turning the volume all the way down on the speaker. Sure, that means that I can't do two-way audio but that wasn't one of my firm requirements for the device. Now when someone presses the button, it rings the doorbell in my house but they don't hear any of that "subscriber not available" stuff or anything like that.

I'll share sample images tomorrow.

Maybe this isn't news to anybody else but I was surprised to learn that all of the apps for these connect to the same back-end system. Hik-Connect, LTS Connect and ClareVision Plus are just EZVIZ clients. You can use any of the different apps with the same credentials.

I discovered this because I installed the ClareVision Plus app thinking that maybe I could use that to configure my LTS doorbell and trick it into updating the firmware to enable the browser interface but when I went to register an account, it said I already had one so I entered the credentials from my LTS Connect account and was a bit surprised to see that it was pre-populated with my LTS doorbell. Same with Hik-Connect.

In fact, you can actually view your doorbell from the EZVIZ website but only with Internet Explorer since it requires a plugin:

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what app I use, it always says that my current firmware (V1.4.61 build 170731) is the latest version.

Devils advocate here... but maybe someone was following him and he was scared, hiding and getting ready with his can of pepper spray in case something happened?

I've been thinking a lot about this because I recently put up a cam on my garage facing into an alley with no lighting at all in it.

Last week some shifty looking guy comes right up to my garage, takes off his backback and stands there with the (red) IR light from the camera hitting him in the side of the face from 3 feet away and he never once noticed the camera. He then goes away without the pack carrying something that looks like a fire extinguisher only to duck back towards my garage 3 minutes later when a car comes down the alley. Puts the pack back on and leaves, again no notice of the camera lights.

Got a great look at him but if the criminal element is too stupid to even look for the cameras I'm going to have to rethink things a bit

I spoke to a Hikvision engineer in Chicago. The 6013 is not released yet in US even though it’s in their Quick Product Guide (roughly page 71-72). Im supposed to call him back around Xmas.

In the meantime I’ve purchased two DS-KB6003-WIP from SECURE LIFE on AliExpress. Touted to be the same product but as an International version rather than a strictly U.S. version. No deal on pricing.

But it has what I want (if quality is there) - full duplex audio, WiFi, powered from 16v transformer. Still waiting on delivery.
