Sweet! LTS is releasing an ONVIF compatible doorbell with SD card slot and 940nm IR

Hi Ryan, I purchased Hikvision DS-KB6003-WIP. Hikvision website does list it as having WDR capability. I apologize if this is wrong thread though, it's not LTS product, but by all accounts it is identical product hardware wise.
Which firmware do you have installed? Have you tried contacting the person you got it from?

I am running latest firmware from Hikvision, I bought it on ebay, I doubt that seller will be of much help and I don't think he needs to. Perhaps I expect too much from this product.

Anyone buy \use \ be able to provide a review or info on the Nest Hello Doorbell cam for comparison? Just curios...don't really want a cloud cam and the fees. It is not cheap but the camera I Hik specs out better. It is just depressing to read all the headaches and let downs from this Hik and other doorbell cams...Even at $100 it's $100 wasted IMO.
I have been going through the pain of installing the RING 2 that another family member bought for my mom and so far it is miserable performance if it works at all. plus the whole cloud eventual monthly cost thing. Not for me.

Did someone say somewhere in this thread there was a wired POE \BI functional doorbell cam out there maybe?
 
Hello, is someone know - does DS-KB6003-WIP support onvif ? it's strange ,but i can't find specs for it on hikv site o_O
 
Has anyone else been having an issue when connecting it to a DVR via ONVIF, the motion detection and app notifications no longer work? Going through the doorbell interface shows them turned off. Turning it back on works for about 24hr but then it turns back off again.

Just a follow up to this for a fix just in case anyone stumbles upon this. I run a Dahua NVR with this doorbell and was having trouble with the ONVIF protocol when adding the doorbell to the NVR. The video feed would drop out randomly (not due to wifi) and the motion detection on the doorbell settings would randomly turn off after enabling it through either the web gui or the phone app. To fix this, I removed the doorbell from the Dahua NVR and added it back with the Customized protocol linked directly to the RTSP streams. The NVR now records the video streams 24/7 with no dropouts. The motion detection was enabled via the web gui and the phone app sends me notifications for motion alerts and clips. Since changing it the motion detection has not turned off randomly. I'm chalking this one up to incompatibilities in the ONVIF interpretation between competing companies.

That's typical of ONVIF. Expecting ONVIF to work perfectly with every little thing is definitely expecting too much. While ONVIF is a life saver in some cases, even during then, it's hit and miss on what will work and what won't. Glad to hear you figured out a workaround @Weasel

@iakov, That doesn't help me much, there are a LOT of firmwares and different versions of those firmwares that are released for their products. Your best bet is contacting Hikvision or your seller to find out about WDR.

@alexz_zz Yes, we've all got our fingers (and toes) crossed for, hopefully soon, a new firmware that allows shutting the IRs off, better ONVIF compatibility, etc.
 
So what's the consensus regarding firmware? Are the any issues with the latest build or should I 100% just update? I just installed my doorbell and the firmware is still the old 1.4.62 build 171201. It's a Hikvision branded model.
 
Is it working good? If so, leave it.

If you're having issues that a firmware may fix, then try the new one.

I've had an LAView doorbell running for several months now, and generally it works fine. But today it kept saying it was offline, so I reset the doorbell, connected it to my phone, the app works fine, no more offline notice. However, when I try to connect it to iVMS-4200, it says invalid username or password. The instructions I've seen for iVMS say the username is "admin" and the password is the password for the doorbell, which I set up 10 minutes previous through my app. This was all working fine for months, no idea why it stopped, or how to reconnect iVMS. I tried logging in using the IP address, it also does not think I have the correct username/password. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks

Try admin+verification code.

EX: If verification code on doorbell is ABCDEF. Then your password would be adminABCDEF.
 
I've been having issues with the stability of this camera and made the following observations:
My chime is humming as described here: H Series Doorbell Camera Quickstart Guide - Nelly's Security
If I wire the resistor as shown in that guide, the humming disappears, but the doorbell will start disconnecting often, so I have to power down the circuit to restart it, at least once every day or two. I decided to disconnect the resistor, as the camera was working well before that. When there is no resistor, the camera works well. It's been on for 4 days now and never went offline. I measured the voltage at the wires coming to the doorbell. No resistor = 19.5V, with resistor 20.6V. Does this mean that the doorbell is so sensitive when the voltage is higher and going over 20V? Does anyone have an alternative solution to stopping the chime from humming, while having a stable camera?

I'm having a problem similar to what someone on ipcamtalk described when using Onvif with my Lorex (Dahua) NVR in regards to the Motion Detection only staying on for about 24 hours than shutting itself off (page 33, link below). LaView actually replaced my doorbell and the exact same thing is happening with the new one. Do you know the RTSP settings/address that I need to use or can you ask "Weasel" what the exact settings are, since it appears IPCAMTALK isn't accepting new members at this time? Thanks!

If you're having same the issue I had, the problem with the chime humming is that current is flowing to the doorbell all the time. In a normal setup, current only flows when you depress the doorbell switch. So as the doorbell camera consumes power, the coil in the chime is energized and the plunger is most likely vibrating. To make matters worse, the camera's power consumption fluctuates, often causing the plunger to not just vibrate, but move up and down a bit, adding to the noise. Adding the resistor lowers the current in the loop but may cause the doorbell to not get enough power, which is likely why your doorbell camera is disconnecting.

What can you do? Tie off the plunger so it cannot vibrate. The chime won't work but the smartphone notification will. The chime should be silent, no more humming. If you remove the plunger, you'll greatly lower the inductance of the coil. Voltage on the coil, Vc, is then reduced so the doorbell will see a higher working voltage and may be damaged depending on your transformer's output voltage. Vc=0.5*LI, where I is current and L is inductance. Removing the plunger lowers L, so the voltage across the coil in the chime will be lower and the voltage at the doorbell higher, which may or may not be an issue.

In my case, I don't care about the chime's ding, as I have a wireless doorbell extender kit installed on my chime (my extender kit is old but it is something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Thomas-Betts-RC3030D-Extend-A-Chime/dp/B0000BYCN1). The transmitter mounts on the chime and you can plug in several chimes around the house, even in the garage, which is great. If I remove the plunger the extender wouldn't see enough of a voltage change on the coil to activate so I zip tied the plunger in place, no more hum, and no need for the load resistor.

Hi, new here and I'm really in need of some help.

I'm having connection issue with LaView Doorbell LV-PDB1520F1 when a diode is installed. I currently have a digital chime and my LaView Doorbell is hooked up to a 24v transformer and I read that a diode is necessary for digital chimes to play the complete ringtone.

The issue is when I hook up the diode to the LaView Doorbell, the doorbell will continuing flashing red and set off my chime every minute. The doorbell indicates upon boot up "Wifi connected" then goes "Connection Failed" after that it will set off the chime. However, once I remove the diode, the doorbell works fine but obviously with no diode, the chime will not ring. I'm not sure if a special kind of diode is required but I purchased a diode part# (1N4001) 50V 1A which should enough. I tested with another diode and same results. I finally tested using a regular doorbell with the diode and everything works ok with the chime playing completely.

I'm currently lost and not sure what else to diagnose since I'm unsure if I need to get a different voltage diode or perform something else.
