US Elections (& Politics) :)

A vote for Biden
This appears to be a straight opinion piece but I think it may not be far off.

It's true and it's crooked as hell. Nobody thinks Biden can run a lemonade stand much less the free world. He's just the least offensive personality in the stable. They aren't running Biden, they're running marxism/socialism/communism and trying to sweeten it up enough for the voting public to swallow it.

A quick take on:

Bret Weinstein On Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris one step closer to the next President.

Don't count out Biden, especially in debates. I think Trump is pounding too much on Biden's state of mind, lowering the bar. He did ok in dem primary debates and if does ok in the first debate, that will blow up the idea Biden is lacking in state of mind.

As in mail-in voting (non-absentee), theory is that dems will use mail-in fiasco if Trump wins to claim he's not legit...again...

Do those in the US who are waving Marxist flags really know what they're asking for?

I notice that Kamala is not taking any direct questions either. Also she is not out and about as much as she could be. My theory is that she does not want to be, because she is afraid of making Joe look bad by him being holed up all the time and only taking scripted questions.

Left 'Secretly Preps' for Violent Unrest If Biden Loses

A coalition of leftist groups is “secretly” discussing how to mobilize and prepare for what it envisions as a “political apocalypse” full of violence and chaos if Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden fails to win a landslide victory on November 3, the Daily Beast reported Monday.

“Occupy sh+t, hold space, and shut things down, not just on Election Day but for weeks,” an unnamed source said in describing the coalition’s effort, dubbed the “Democracy Defense Nerve Center.”

The leftist group, convened by the relatively secret Fight Back Table (FBT), reportedly discussed their plans in secret during a Zoom virtual meeting.

Referring to the meeting, the Daily Beast reported:

Over the course of two hours, participants broached the question of what the progressive political ecosystem can functionally do in a series of election scenarios. They began charting out what it would take to stand up a multi-state communications arm to fight disinformation, a training program for nonviolent civil disobedience, and the underpinnings of what one official described as “mass public unrest.”

An unnamed aide to the Biden campaign told the Daily Beast it is “aware of the concerns expressed by many of these [leftist] groups” that are “actively planning for all contingencies and scenarios.”

Before officials get a chance to tally the votes, the FBT alliance is pushing the Democrat assumption that the election will be illegitimate absent a huge Biden victory.

The leftist coalition is explicitly making preparations to deal with a situation where the “November election ends without a clear outcome or with a Joe Biden win that Donald Trump refuses to recognize,” the Daily Beast noted.

“Inside the coalition, there is [a] dispute over whether Biden should even concede if he wins the popular vote but loses the Electoral College,” the news outlet acknowledged.

Unlike Obama for doing nothing.

Trump Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize For Actually Doing Something

Once again, a sitting president of the United States has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, but unlike last time, when President Barack Obama received the honor, current president Donald Trump has been nominated for an actual achievement, not just being popular in Europe and a nifty public speaker.

Last month, the Trump administration pulled off a massive deal between Israel and The United Arab Emirates in which the latter recognized the former and commercial air flights between the two began for the first time ever.

Back in 2009 President Obama was not only nominated, but received the Nobel Peace Prize. He had been president for 10 months when it was announced and it was apparently owing to him fostering a “new climate in international relations,” whatever that meant.

In fact, as almost everyone knew and was quick to point out, Barack Obama had achieved approximately nothing in foreign policy at this point in his presidency. And in the eight years that followed he failed to usher in any change in the Middle East even remotely as significant as Trump’s recent deal, positive change anyway.

Trump’s effort was led up by Jared Kushner, his son-in-law and the butt of many jokes. Putting Kushner in charge of such a delicate, complicated, and important a task was seen as incompetent nepotism. After all, what chance did some real estate guy born with a silver spoon in his mouth have to succeed after the Obama administration with access to foremost experts on everything had failed? Turned out, pretty decent chance. In fact he did it.

I remember I was in Europe when the 2009 announcement was made that Obama had won the Peace Prize. Even there, where a lot people loved him even more than the American media, the general reaction seemed to be, “Really? Him? Why?” Nobody, not even Obama himself, who frankly seemed a bit embarrassed by the whole thing and should have, had a very good reason. The prize seemed to be, well, aspirational. As it turns out those aspirations did not come to fruition.

There is one thing that we should all be clear headed about; Donald Trump is not going to win the Nobel Peace Prize. He could foster a global peace deal, get rid of all nuclear weapons, solve global hunger, and give everyone in the world free Twinkies and he would not win the Nobel Peace Prize. But his nomination by Norwegian Parliament member Christian Tybring-Gjedde offers us a powerful and telling contrast between this time around and 2009.

What becomes clear when we look at the situation is that had Obama had a Middle East peace accomplishment as significant as Trump and Kushner’s, the American media, hell, the global media would have called it a generational achievement. It would have been celebrated to the high heavens but because it is Trump we have to wait and see, could be nothing.

This betrays a political media that really isn’t interested in results but rather in some Aaron Sorkin “West Wing” fantasy of the presidency in which nothing much changes, nothing much gets better, but there is a good, decent, Martin Sheen type figurehead they can all adore, be proud of, and give awards to. Make no mistake, the deal between Israel and the UAE is massive, if other Arab nations come on board it could not only usher in greater peace, but further isolate the brutal Iranian regime.

Does Donald Trump deserve the Nobel Peace Prize? Who can say, really, the whole thing is a little silly. But what we can say is that he clearly deserves it a whole bunch more than Barack Obama ever did. Certainly more than Barack Obama did when he was still measuring drapes at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. So congratulations to President Trump on his nomination. It is an honor well deserved.

Anti-Border Fence Mich. Gov. Whitmer Building 8-Foot High, Electrified Fence Around Governor’s Residence

Despite her vocal opposition to building border walls to keep Americans safe from illegal immigration, Democrat Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is having an eight-foot high, electrified fence built around her official residence to keep out unwanted visitors.

The fence is just one part of a $1.1 million, taxpayer-funded security upgrade to the governor’s residence, The Detroit Free Press reports:

In recent weeks, crews have been working to build what appears to be an eight-foot-tall fence around the governor's residence property. Last week, a sign on the site where crews were on the job warned, "Danger. High voltage. Unauthorized persons keep out."

I wonder if this electric fence will be solar powered?

Fanning the Flames: Joe Biden’s rhetoric about crime and race is wrong — and dangerous.

Freddrick Hadden was shot to death by a sheriff’s deputy in Burke County, Georgia. A habitual felon who had only recently been released from prison, Hadden had kidnapped his ex-wife at gunpoint. When Deputy Eric Madison pursued Hadden to a home near Hephzibah, the woman escaped Hadden’s vehicle. She was shot twice by Hadden before Deputy Madison returned fire, killing the kidnapper and saving the woman’s life.

That incident in August 2019 attracted no national media interest. CNN didn’t cover it, there were no protests, and Joe Biden has never mentioned it. Perhaps that’s because Freddrick Hadden was white and Deputy Madison is black.

For months, Biden and his media allies have abetted Black Lives Matter activists in inciting racial fear and hatred, claiming that “systemic racism” by police accounts for the deaths of black suspects at the hands of police. Even though research clearly disproves such claims, the facts haven’t stopped Democrats from trying to exploit this slanderous narrative in their effort to defeat President Trump. Last week, after a self-declared “100% Antifa” radical murdered a Trump supporter in Portland, Oregon, Biden doubled down on this anti-police rhetoric, blaming “bad cops” for “racial injustice in America,” while bizarrely accusing Trump of “stoking violence in our cities.”

Republicans to the Rescue: Barr Announces Chicago Murder Rate Cut In Half Since Start Of "Operation Legend"

On Wednesday, Attorney General Bill Barr revealed that the murder rate in Chicago had plummeted "roughly in half" since the start of Operation Legend, a program that deploys federal agents to violent cities to quell violence.

During a press conference in Chicago, Barr said that Operation Legend has resulted in 500 arrests as well as 124 individual federal crime charges.

“Throughout the country, more than 2500 people have been arrested and more than 600 are facing federal charges as part of the operation, an ongoing government effort to combat surging crime in parts of the country,” Fox News reports.

Daily Wire reported:

Operation Legend launched in Chicago in early July, after the city experienced a shocking spike in shootings and homicides following the release of coronavirus-related lockdowns. Gang violence on the city’s south and west sides also spiked, leaving a number of minors — including several children five years of age and younger — dead or severely injured.

The program, which now operates in more than a dozen cities, pairs agents and resources from the FBI, US Marshals, ATF, and DEA with major city police department investigators to help handle organized crime and, specifically, widespread gun violence and illegal weapons and narcotics trafficking.

In Chicago alone, 400 federal agents are assigned to the Operation Legend task force, though around 200 of those agents were already working in the city prior to the program’s launch. The city also received around $9 million in federal funds to boost community-oriented policing projects and around $3.5 million to support anti-crime operations already in existence, per local media.

“The results of those actions speak for themselves: over the first five weeks of Operation Legend in Chicago, murders dropped by 50% over the previous five weeks. August ultimately saw a 45% decrease in murders compared to July, and a 35% decrease compared to June,” Barr said.

The Justice Department released a graph showing the reduction in homicides in Chicago.

The Daily Wire continues:

Gun violence in Chicago is still a major problem. Despite Operation Legend’s achievements, the city’s August murder rate was the highest since 2016 and is only lower in comparison to June’s and July’s murder rates, which set city records. So far this summer, between Memorial Day and Labor Day, Chicago has seen 342 people killed in gun violence and 1,607 wounded, that’s up significantly from 2019 when 172 people were killed over the summer and 890 wounded.

Chicago’s mayor Lori Lightfoot initially declined President Donald Trump’s offer of federal assistance in handling the city’s crime spike but later agreed to help on the condition that it did not look like federal intervention in Portland, Oregon, where the Department of Justice sent an elite, militarized unit from Customs and Border Protection to guard federal property against rioters.
