I think the combination of your electrical chime and the incorrect wire is causing your problem. There are some cheap mechanical chimes you can get on amazon (for about $20, they even include a transformer). I think the big box home improvement may have one for around the same price. The easiest fix for your wire would be to double up the connections that are running through the telephone wire your chime is now running on.
I'll give that a shot. Thanks

I know it's onvif but is doorbell button "pressed" sent through onvif in any form? I am looking for a doorbell button like this one to use on my Dahua NVR and I still want to use the iDMSS app to alert me when the doorbell is pressed on it. I am sure the video and probably the motion will work on Dahua NVR but will the NVR recognize a button pressed and alert the app?

Thank you

No.

Video will work
Motion Detection PROBABLY will NOT work (I have a newer low end Amcrest/Dahua 8 channel NVR NV4108-HS and MD does not work, unless you have a Dahua NVR that has Hikvision protocol as an option then that MAY work)
Doorbell will NOT work, that only works through the Hik-connect (and rebranded) apps, doesn't even work through their older IVMS4500 NVR mobile app (although MD alert will work on IVMS4500)

Thank you, it what I thought .. Darn I wish onvif would include alarm out ...

I forgot to add that the motion detect should work if you set the NVR to do the motion detection not the camera ..

Anyway, I wanted to ask since the camera accept sandisk storage, I assume it have a built in motion detection as well too. Does it email out snapshot of the motion it detected?

I know it can ftp snapshot don't remember email have to check

MD not working for me even with MD set on both cam and nvr through onvif, other using Hikvision NVR report it working fine on hik properitary protocol

I am using Synology Surveillance Station and bought a Nelly's NSC-DB1. I got it setup as a stand alone with the app, but I can't get it added to Surveillance Station. Can anyone send me the settings to make it work? I am normally tech savvy, but after 2 hours working on this, I am at my wits end.

I don't have Synology, but for BI, I am using the following Path: /h264/ch01/main/av_stream

Does anyone know what are the port numbers that are used? I need to setup a firewall rule to allow only that traffic to and from the camera.

This camera is absolute garbage. I have an AP literally right behind the door and it still won't stay connected to wifi.

My AP is a few rooms and walls away with hardiplank siding and a refridgerator in between, and it doesn't miss a beat. Maybe try another AP; the chipsets might not like eachother.

I do appreciate the suggestion, but that shouldn't be necessary. I am running a full Meraki network shouldn't need to purchase additional equipment that won't mesh with my current network just to get a $100 doorbell to work.

Is there a factory default reset I can do on this? Now it won't connect to wifi at all. I have held down the button on the side until it says it's resetting, but that isn't working.

If you have a volt meter did you check voltage? Mine was flakey, and locked up when I pushed the button after I installed it. Checked voltage and it was only 10v AC. Luckily I found a new transformer at lowes for only $11 and my transformer is in my coat closet by the front door up in the corner... easily replaced and now it is rock solid and 16v AC.
If you are at 16v AC, check the connections at the transformer, and the doorbell, and the mechanical chime. Maybe one is loose and it is a amp draw issue.

First try and remove the camera from your phone app, then press the button on the cam for about 15 secs and try again.

Did you get this sorted?

Mine would not connect to WiFi with 16v, worked fine on 24v.

My question is: Anyone know how to disable the "The subscriber is unavailable" voice responses? This is pretty close to a deal-breaker for my wife.

Be amazing if you find a way. So far it is my only complaint, I have little to no glare from the IR emitters.

Help - We got the Laview doorbell from Newegg and it is causing us a lot of headaches.....

This doorbell camera will not stay connected - the router is only about 15 ft away, but i put a range extender in between just to test and I still can not get a lasting connection. We did not use the included resistor and really dont know where it goes nor if it would address any of these problems or not - from searching this thread it doesnt appear that it does much except helps to eliminate the buzzing (thats the least of our problems.)

While connected I pressed the microphone on my android phone app and it pops up on my screen for a minute and then "The audio communication "failed to turn on 380209" and then the wifi connection failed again. I also received a failed to turn on notification "361011" error. The doorbell announced "doorbell is ready - wifi connected - server registered" and it runs for a little while but then the connection is lost. The other night our doorbell rang at 4:00 in the morning randomly and then the connection was lost again. I have to restart the app constantly just to get a live view for a few seconds/minutes.

We have an OLD chime doorbell NuTone A-64176 that has 8 tone melody....the wires behind it lead upward so i am assuming the transformer is in the attic (?) The attic is full of blown insulation and other yucky stuff so we dont plan to go up there to search for it or try to test the voltage up there.

So my questions are:

do you think that our old doorbell itself is only halfas*d compatible? If thats the case what would be the cheapest and easiest to install that DOES work with it? (if i understand correctly, we can not use a wireless doorbell with this unit)

OR do you think that we just got a bad unit itself?

I have contacted Laview support but have not heard back from them.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
