Getting the hang of it
I reinstalled the tools and for some reason, the email setup does not want to work. I tried various smtp gmail setups: smtp.gmail.com ports: 25,465,587 and smtp.gmail.com with ports 465 or 587. Confirmed user name and password were correct. Any suggestions?

installed BITools, installation gave an Acess Violation with Comctl32.dll several times, chose the ignore option, finished installation but cannot get it to display on the camera. Did the Zip error installation, still cannot get to display on camera.

Is it possible to get weather info from 2 different weather stations? I have camera's in Az & also in Ia. I would like to do a weather overlay for a Az camera & another overlay for a Ia camera?

Hi, I have downloaded the BI tools, I have it set up, extracted etc. I was working on the macros however it shows but when I move it to the location I want it, it leaves a copy of it in the center of the screen. In other words, I have the temp where I want it, but there is also a copy of the temp in the center, any suggestions?

I figured it out, I also created a camera and disabled pretty much everything and selected "blackness" which made a nice background for the weather data. I figured the more I disabled, the less load it would be on cpu.

Hi, Im having trouble with BIT. When adding my Station ID or any other private station id it says :Error connecting wunderground, check your Internet connection / station id! It will only work with official weather stations ID`s like "01257" or "01273". ISRTRNDE14 or ISRTRNDE19 does not work!? Any solution for this? My station is valid and shows on the wundermap! This is a Netatmo weather station.
The default settings should work with port 465. If not, please check your firewall settings on your computer.
As of now, no, but this is something that I am definitely going to add in the future. I am in the same boat as you, I have cameras in multiple locations that I would like the weather overlayed on.
Both of those stations are working for me when I test, not sure what's going on here. If you would like, I can TeamViewer in and enter the debugger of BIT to see what's going on.
For everyone else - I am working on BIT right now and will be all day. The next release will be soon and will include bug fixes plus a DDNS updater.

I've tested something and find that my Station is readable here to! But only if I tick for MPH and remove it in km / h that we use here in Norway. Then it works fine. Strange!

But anyway, great work.Mike, I just found the usefulness of the webserver watchdog feature! What a great capability. My vacation home is 12 hours away, very inaccessible, and in an area where Pill Billies like to break in and steal anything that isn't bolted down... as well as things that ARE bolted down. As such, having my BI service go down is a HUGE liability.
I run BI as a service. When an update is applied (automatically), Ken's updater downloads the upgrade, stops the service, installs the update, and then restarts the service. One of the most recent updates failed at the 'restart the service" step. Thus, the PC was on and working, but BI was off. I have the PC on an web-based power strip that auto pings the PC's IP. Should it not respond after X attempts, it will power cycle the PC. But if it's just the BI application/service that is off, no problems are reported.
If I could, I'd like to suggest that your watchdog feature have an option to choose between starting the service, or opening the app/console. As it is currently written, 'Blue Iris will be launched'. However, if the user has his BI configured to start as a service, that launching not only starts the service, but also opens the console. The downside to an open console - at least on my system - is that it causes excessive CPU load. I have 24 cameras which on their own get the idle CPU to 70%. Having the console open adds between 15 to 20% more load. Thus, I keep the console open only long enough to make changes. Leaving it open makes the CPU fan sound like a hair drier.
As it is, your BIT provides me with the critical notification that the service is down - that is essential. Getting it to not open the console would simply be icing on the cake.
ETA: I tested the watchdog feature by manually stopping the BI service. I did NOT have the "close BI first" checked. When BIT started the service, I saw the momentary BI notice that the service had started, and then the console opened. I just tried it again, this time having the "close BI first" checked, and while it did start the service, it DID NOT open the console. So I think I just got my icing

BIT already does that.
edit: it can download and update the files on command, but not automatically, if that's what you're asking for.
personally, i prefer to be in control of the updates rather than have them done automagically,
in case of the occasional 'bad' one... i generally let you guys here test things a few days before i jump in. haha.

works for blue iris itself as well.
For some reason when I click the update BP2008 files, it gives me error 0x80004005. I cannot overwrite the files. But if I copy and paste the files from the zip manually it prompts me with UAC and then works fine. I get the UAC popup when I start BIT but it doesn't seem to work for copy files into program files anymore... any ideas why?
