I am eyeing on GW Security USA camera system. I was wondering if anyone knows what's different between their 42 series and 55 series NVRs?

Welcome @AsadK

Why GW Security ?

These will be worse than Lorex. Most of their models have the ring of IR that is very dated technology and just about everything they offer is on the 1/2.8" sensor.

What is your goal of the system - general look around or identify capabilities?

First, no sales tax and they give a 10% discount. second, some of their bullets cameras are IP67 rated and do have built in mic. third, i am getting tired of Lorex.

Why are you tired of Lorex ?

What makes you think GW will be better ?

10% discount .. wait for Black Friday time period if you are needing a discount.

Remember to also check the sensor size ..

IP67 is nice, should be able to find Dahua OEM or Hikvision OEM cameras that meet that spec if you need it, and also .. the way you install it is more important in terms of water / heat issues .. see the notes on di-electric gel and what we do wrapping up the pig tail, this also is why I really like junction boxes

FWIW -

example of some of GW security IP cameras :

OEM .. some of the models look like what Swann also has .. Chinese OEM perhaps

so far, spot checking .. looks like the cameras are significantly more than I would like to spend for a small sensor camera.

I ran accross a store with some GW Security cameras and wanted to see if they were closer to Dahua or Hikvision...
so here is what google had to say...
GW Security cameras are commonly manufactured by Hanbang (HGBK) .... GW Security products are often NDAA compliant, meaning they don't use banned components from Dahua or Hikvision.
Companies like GW Security are likely to be compliant with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) because they don't use components from companies like Dahua or Hikvision.

I kinda find this hard to believe, (that all of GW Security cams are NDAA compliant) but they may have some models that are. I'm not gonna buy any but found what google had to say interesting.
