$69 motorized varifocal 4x (2.8mm-12mm) Longse

Only a small look - baby-sitting and visitor activities have dominated recently.
But I did mount it on the end of a long piece of wood and place it next to the DS-2CD2032 that covers part of the back garden.
My instant impression is that this is a good camera that I'm going to find a permanent home for in a new low-light location around the side of the garage, not currently covered.
The varifocal will allow setting up the optimum view covering the gate - which has seen some unwanted activity occasionally.

No real surprises, following the info that @klasipca has already posted - the daytime view is comparable if a little sharper than the 2032.
The night-time view is definitely clearer and with less noise.
The 4x zoom works perfectly well, and the focus stays sharp and is fairly quick, usually under a second, to settle.
Here are a couple of ad-hoc comparison snapshots taken from a Hikvision 7816 NVR.
The 2032 is running at 1920x1080, the same as the Cantonk varifocal, which is at minimum zoom and default settings.
The area is lit by the IR of both cameras and also a 5w IR illuminator, and at the far edge a street lamp, so quite high illumination, not stretching either camera a lot.
The Hikvision 2032 is the one with the larger font on the OSD.

Does yours reset zoom position to wide angle after restart? I sent this issue to Amanda but she hasn't responded yet.

I don't know - I haven't tried that yet. I've hardly touched it so far.
But it has updated firmware, not yet published on the herospeed.net site - S2L33M_IMX322_PTZ_X_6.1.17.5

Ah, need to check if I can get that.

I received this firmware from Amanda, but had trouble applying via web UI. Stay tuned.

Food for thought for those of us considering the Longse/Cantonk VF versions. Seems as though Longse and Cantonk have been changing things around with their specs and model #s for these cameras.

In the S500 thread, several folks have recently mentioned extended shipping delays, and @Danfozzy85 just received something different than what was understood to be ordered:
https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthrea...destroyer-for-90?p=98966&viewfull=1#post98966

Regarding the VF camera in this thread, @klasipca has provided tons of info about Longse model# LRDC60XA200 that he got with IMX322 sensor:
https://www.ipcamtalk.com/showthrea...8mm-12mm)-Longse?p=94891&viewfull=1#post94891

But, specs for the same model# LRDC60XA200 are now different on the Longse website, with OV4689 sensor and 4MP resolution:
http://www.longse.com/Info/View_pro.asp?id=762

The Cantonk model# KAZ-200DRZ20A model that @alastairstevenson ordered(?) also doesn't seem to be on Cantonk website anymore. However, Cantonk do have a different but seemingly similar VF model# KAZ-200DRZ40A still showing the IMX322 sensor (on two product list pages):

Anyone else have feedback about recent orders?

I almost bought this cam LRDC60XA200 but its now listed with OV4689 sensor

OV4689 is a mistake it was always s2l+imx322

The latest firmware fixed the bug I reported above related to lens memory after reboot! ISO Mode switching still isn't fixed, but not a huge deal. Firmware can be downloaded here (expires in 48 hours)

Thanks klasipca, I haven't bought anything from Alibaba before, I tried to purchase the camera and I get this message now : Sorry, you have input invalid information. Please try it again.

There is no mention of the IP rating. It probably could work in wet condition, but I would add sealant throughout just in case.

Just for clarification it's listed under "indoor cameras" which means outside at your own risk. YMMV

It would probably work fine beneath an eave or soffit out of direct rain.

Course that Scottish rain blows every direction including straight up I've heard.

This one still going, but I am now worried about having those POE module inside the box during hot summer

can u re-post those images os the s500 and VF for some reason i cant see them please and thank you.

Full size comparison between the two cams. (open in another video to see full picture). The light is from IR from both cams. Tested motion, no ghosting or anything weird.

Mine worked 4 days,
It's broken now. Does get a ip address but can't connect to it.
Have you tried IPSearch tool and reload firmware using this too?

@klasipca, did you originally mention that your VF can also had pan and tilt? If so, was that fixed with the latest firmware?
