ANNKE I61DR 2MP (Hikvision Cube Clone)

A lot of people here seem to like these but Amazon shows less than stellar purchaser reviews? Like 33% gave it 1 star.
Anyone here not real happy with this camera?
that is because they are nest type users who expect plug and play. The camera is excellent.

Thanks
I think I'll buy one of the 2MPs. Doesn't seem worth jumping to $99 for 4MP. It can't make that much of a difference for indoor use I imagine.

There is another post here noting a 3mp low light version of this camera which may be something you want...I dont remember the price via ali.

Hmm I always thought 3MP was something to stay away from...don't recall why people would say that but read it a few times.

Following as I need to add 2 more Cubes, but I see that they are impossible to source. Any one else come up with an alternative?

Quick question... My cube cam is installed on a covered porch such that it's directly looking at the Sun for about 3 hours in the morning, until the sun rises more.

Will direct sunlight for about 3 hours per day damage the camera sensor ?

I recall in the old days sunlight was very bad for video cameras. Not sure about this newer tech.

thanks

Hi all purchased four of these. Can somebody confirm whether the Aanke firmware will work with the Android app and hikivision desktop app?

You need to update to the Hik firmware anyway, as there is a security vulnerability in the firmware. See more pages on this thread.

Or read the couple of pages on this camera I added to the cliff notes, in the Wiki at the top of the page.

I have firmware 5.3.5. Is it best to update through the ip address through the device it self or ivms 4200 desktop software? Since 5.4.0 is not available is everyone updating straight to 5.4.3?

5.4.0 IS available and you MUST update sequentially. See the cliff notes in the Wiki at the top of the page for the details; there are a couple of pages on this camera.

5.4.0 is not available on the hikivision website any more. Refer to post #18. I was able to update Annke 5.3.5 directly to 5.4.3 using the hikivision Web interface. I prefer to do a sequential update as you recommend if you could provide a link to 5.4.0. Thanks.

Interesting

I have 5.4.0 saved if you need it. Will defer to other members to advise whether you need to use 5.4.0 or if it’s OK go directly to 5.4.3
