thanks.. i just tried in on my laptop new install of bi.. same shit
did you change any settings...all I can tell you is it works for me and everyone else here so there must be something you are doing differently.

Didnt touch anything on laptop demo just now.. just clicked direct to disc on setup of camera

That pc belongs in the trash. You are spending MORE money running that old pc 24/7 than it would cost you to replace it with a 100 dollar i5-3570. Makes no sense. It would likely not even handle the extra cpu load of h265 even if it did work

Hahaha yea i know.. in the process of getting one you suggested.. it actually works for the time being.. just no h.265 recordings

It doesnt matter if it works, its drawing lots of power...you are paying the electric company instead of yourself. Buy the replacement already and dump it. Problem solved.
