Has anyone had problems connecting this camera to an nvr? I'm having trouble having my LTS (hikvision rebrand) nvr recognizing this camera. I'm wondering if the firmware is incompatible or what. It's on FW 5.5.3, pretty sure it's an international version so I can upgrade the firmware (or downgrade maybe).

Thanks, very odd and I'm not sure what the problem is. Yes I've tried "plug and play" and reverting to a manual connection and all kind of things. The really odd thing is when I connect the camera to my lan with a poe injector it works fine, but when plugged in directly to the nvr it doesn't. I have the IP set correctly, I'm not sure what would be different connected directly to the nvr vs on the same lan the nvr is plugged into..? I updated the FW to version 5.5.5 but that didn't help.

What was the IP address you'd set on the camera, and what is the IP address set on the specific PoE channel that you connected the camera to?
What is the status of the PoE channel as seen via the NVR web GUI after the camera is plugged in?
What is the PoE status of the PoE channel as seen via the VGA/HDMI interface when the camera is plugged in?
Thanks for the help! I tried several different IP addresses. Try to bear with me as I ramble on, I tried many different things.
The IPs of the cameras on the NVR are 192.168.188.X. I set the camera to dhcp (using the sadp tool), then set the port to plug n play on the nvr. It looked like it set the static IP in the camera to 192.168.188.29. Then I'd switch it to manual in the NVR, input the username/password, but I'd get a weird error "IP Camera Exception." After removing the IP camera from the NVR and plugging it back into my lan (with a poe injector), the sadp tool would show 192.168.188.29. I then set it back to dhcp (via the sadp tool) on the lan so it'd work. I also tried plugging the camera in with the static IP of 192.168.188.29 and setting it to manual on the NVR but no luck. For another try I even plugged in my laptop directly into the NVR, gave it a static IP of 192.168.188.99 and ran the sadp tool. The odd thing is I would see the IP of the camera showing up and disappearing regularly, and I could never directly connect to the camera via the IP address when directly plugged into the NVR. It acted very strangely. At one point it showed some strange IP address, that I changed via SADP tool, but I was able to update it to the expected 192.168.188.29. However, with the camera plugged directly into my LAN's switch, and an IP of 192.168.1.226, and inputting that into the NVR, it connects and works right away and acts 100% normally.
When you say status of the PoE channel do you mean the power status (as in the power it's drawing) or the little icon? The status via the VGA/HDMI monitor off the NVR is "IP Camera Exception" from the little exclamation point. I think one time I got "Network Abnormal" as well, but that might have been when I was screwing around. I can't remember the status from the WEB/GUI it was either ip camera exception or some other error. It would constantly try to reconnect.

The power status. This would indicate if the camera is being powered OK.
A key requirement, when trying manual mode instead of Plug&Play, is to set the IP address of the camera to match the IP address of the NVR PoE channel that the camera will be plugged in to.
Better, when trying Plug&Play, is to have reset the camera to defaults such that is in 'Inactive' then connect it and see if the NVR takes control of it.
I will check those out when I get home, thanks! Stupid question but is the "Restore camera to defaults" the same as pressing the physical reset button on the camera? I tried "reset camera" in the web GUI, but I'll try reset default. I mounted the dang camera already so hopefully that will do the same as the physical button so I don't need to remove it..

Yes I definitely did this. I tried it several different ways without any luck unfortunately.
Oh yes regarding POE, I was wondering if the camera was getting sufficient power from the NVR so I used the POE injector with the NVR at one point, but that didn't make a difference. I will reset the camera and try things all over again and see what happens.

Ok so it works. I did a factory reset to default in the menu option, then plugged it into the nvr as plug and play. Then set it to manual and added the correct login/pw and *voila* all working. I feel like a total retard but I'm glad it's working. The stream showed up in live view even as default protocol and w/o a login/pw, but I'm guessing that the settings probably couldn't have been changed w/o the correct password. Very odd that it didn't work before but who knows. Thanks everyone for your help!
Hi, I talked to a Hikvision Rep in Western Canada a few days ago about the cameras from Amazon and unknown resellers from China. He let me know that they did not sell anything through Amazon. They bought a few samples and found out that the serial numbers on the cameras they bought was not in the data base. I understand that you can get a way better deal from china, but the quality and warranty are not going to be the same as if you were to buy it through an authorized distributor. The camera you are talking about is a dark fighter camera and it gives you color with just a little bit of light.And here's my neighbour going to his car

He is lying to you...the camera in the title to this thread is an international hikvision camera and is no different than the camera purchased from your distributor but for being significantly cheaper.
Would you mind to explain why hikvision tech support doesn't want to help if you bought your product straight from China or Amazon? Price wise I would pay the extra $60 and save my time and labor trying to figure out why the camera is out of focus. I am getting way better video from cameras sold by Hikvision locally. It works way better at day and night. I am 100% sure that Hikvision is aware of knockoffs and this is the only reason why every time you talk to tech support they asked for the serial number of your device and the name of the distributor you had bought it from.

That is simple. Its because hikvision only provides warranty and support for cameras purchased from an authorized distributor. Doesnt mean the camera is any different. Sometimes the difference is 60, sometimes is 200 or 500 or 1000 depending on the cam. For someone installing 10 cams they can self insure....If you buy from reputable sellers they will replace it, as will paypal etc if they fail to.
As far as getting better image quality from hikvision sold locally that is bulls and you know it. It varies by the SENSOR in the camera. Compare apples to apples.
They are not "knockoffs" they are hikvision cameras made by hikvision. Understand that there are two types of china cameras, those that are made for the china market with hacked china firmware (not upgradeable) and subpar sensors and housings, and there are hikvision cameras that are made for the international market that are EXACTLY the same as the ones you buy from your local distributor, just cheaper.
The members on the this forum have been buying international dahua and hikvision cameras for YEARS much to the chagrin of distributors installers like yourself who want to justify the markup...nice try.

I had my share of bad experiences with Hikvision knockoffs.
I am not buying stuff like that anymore.
My business is based on referrals. I will never mess with quality just to make an extra buck. I will not monitor this post anymore so don't waste your time leaving an angry reply.
I made the mistake of buying my Hik NVR from a local distributor- in case of warranty or firmware issues. I then discovered I'm locked into using firmware from Hikvision Australia- the problem is they don't bother releasing the latest firmware that's available from overseas Hik sites. So I'm stuck using old firmware and miss out on the latest versions. They also don't sell certain camera models like the discussed DS-2CD2335FWD-I.

When did I say anyone should work for free? Stop putting words in my mouth. Also stop lying on my forum. The hikvision referred to in this thread is NOT a knockoff. It is a hikvision camera, MADE BY HIKVISION WITH HIKVISION FIRMWARE THAT IS FULLY UPGRADEABLE. There is absolutely no difference in quality between that camera and the one you buy from your "authorized distributor", but for the price. Its sad to see installers like you resort to making lying to make a buck. One of the primary purposes of this forum is to guide users doing their own installs so they dont need to rely of folks like you who often use inferior products and charge a fortune. If I was a customer I would be very wary of using Artech Security for my installs based on your misrepresentations.

Can someone point me to the latest Firmware for the 2335 Europe/UK model? I downloaded what I thought was the latest version from the right page but the Maintenance page for the camera through the web interface doesn’t load properly so can’t do sod all. Video works great but cant access the settings/Maintenance page.
I swore I had the correct one.
What’s the best way to update the firmware if you can’t access the update firmware section of the camera?
Maybe connect it to the NVR and update it from the NVR?

What browser are you using?
If not using IE11, so webcomponents is not loaded, some parts of the web GUI are not available. Webcomponents isn't just for rendering the video.
You can also do full configuration and updates with the Batch Configuration Tool, downloaded from the same location as SADP.

Using IE 11 but I will check with another browser. All other cams work fine with the browser though. Will try the batch tool.
