Hikvision camera admin password reset tool

Well, the mystery of why my NVR would not install a 4MP camera appears to have been solved. I was working with a BAD CAMERA. I can say that because today I received another 4MP camera (same model number: 2CDC2041WD-I) and when I plugged it in to the NVR, it was installed without any problem. (In spite of the fact that the new camera's IP was 192.168.1.64 while my NVR POE's are on 192.168.254.X )

Both cameras have labels stating that their date of manufacture was "07/2015" but there is one apparently important difference: the newer (working) camera has firmware v5.3.3 while the other (non-working) has v5.3.2 .

My advice is that if you plan to use a 4MP camera with Hikvision NVR, do not buy any cameras with the v5.3.2 (or lower) firmware. (Unless the upgraded firmware is available.)

Also (for anyone still following this techno-adventure), the H264+ checkbox is not greyed out anymore.

Later, I'll provide a report on how the 4MP camera operates.

v5.2? 5.2.5? It has this listed on it's label?

The cams come from the factory with a label on them that states the original firmware version.
Just to be clear, the bad cam has 5.3.2 on the label?

I can't remember if you were able to access the bad camera from your browser or not... if you did did you notice which firmware it was actually running?

I don't think I can make it any clearer than in my previous post:

The good firmware is 5.3.3.

The bad firmware is: 5.3.2

I don't recall if the bad camera firmware version showed up in the NVR.

Keep in mind that this ONLY APPLIES TO THE 4MP 2CD2042 CAMERA.

What is the H264+? An upgraded H264 compression protocol that this camera supports?

Would you be able to provide comprative day, night and IR pics at max picture resolution? Also can you provide a picture demonstrating the WDR ability of the new 4MP cameras?

Also I was wondering if you can measure the Horizontal and vertical field of view, since such information is not provided by HIK in the data sheet.

At the end of your short adventure, at least you sorted out your network configuration properly.

And if you are lucky, when and if the 5.3.3 firmware is published for the camera, it may fix the compatibility issue, unless you are going to get support from the seller.

My thought is that the Hik cams often come with one firmware version on label and a different hacked version running on the camera. It requires reading the label and logging into the camera to see if they are different. We have seen botched hacked firmwares and that could be a possible reason for any problems/incompatibility.
Edit: Looking back I see the camera reported 5.3.2 in SADP but that still doesn't tell me if you have hacked firmware or not.

Dear bp2008

thanks for your support and please help me about i have dvr with admin password and i forget the password so that i need [h=2]Hikvision DVR admin password reset tool[/h]

Does this tool work with SADP 2.2.3.6? Cant make it happen. Also, my cam's date was a day fast from the factory and I'm wondering if that's causing me problems. And...just to be sure, what is the "serial code box"? Thank you gentlemen.

Problem was I was using SADP 2.2.3.6 and not the Hikvision tools version of SADP. There is no "serial code box" in the 2.2.3.6 version. All good now. Many thanks.

Just emailed Hikvision for the serial number before I found this link. I appreciate the post and lets see what Hikvision says for a reply on my request, lol. This ought to be good.

I saw their response that you posted in the other thread - I thought it was actually pretty helpful and friendly and useful - by no means the brush-off you might have had from a 'grey market product problem'.

Yes I agree very much. They were very good in their reply and honest and I acknowledged that in a reply after receiving that email. Very Professional for Hikvision to return information in this fashion and being an unauthorized seller item. But, they still make money off the product if its authorized or not. They just don't want them rebranding bastages getting them..
I also sent a request to the Hikvision/China as well. They wanted a list of information concerning my camera, though I just replied that the problem is solved. They sent another email asking for my country and seller. Since they have my serial number, I just decided to forward the answer to those questions they asked.

I need to reset my password for my 7716N-E4/16P. This isn't working....any suggestions?
