Pandemic threat? Anyone else concerned?

Politico Playbook PM said:
-- NBC’S KASIE HUNT and ALEX MOE: “Anxiety in an aging Congress as coronavirus marches across U.S.”: “Members of Congress are becoming increasingly anxious about coronavirus, and there is growing pressure on leadership to take steps to protect lawmakers — even potentially recessing for a period of weeks — two Democratic congressional sources said Sunday.”
And yet...
two (2) months after Covid-19 was recognized, in the greatest and most wealthy country on the planet, I can't be tested

Sorry fellas...I'm home sick and I don't have a lot on my list today, except to do my part spreading the gloom and doom (and helping to aggravate the panic).

How'm I doin'?

I really should be vacuuming, however -- ever mindful of Nero -- I don't want my legacy to be "Q™ vacuumed whilst Corornavirus burned." Besides, I can't get the fuQin' vacuum cleaner started.

Well Trump did promise to drain the swamp... ;-P

Let's not bring the President into it or else this topic is gonna devolve into more of a dumpster fire than it already is Thumbsmiley20.gif

I know everybody here agrees that this is just pathetic. Its been two months since COVID-19 was discovered and the greatest and most wealthy country failed to take prior precautions. Hope you feel better soon Q
Speaking of anxiety, it suppresses the immune system...

Unfortunately, two (2) months after Covid-19 was recognized, in the greatest and most wealthy country on the planet, I can't be tested unless I go to an emergency room with pneumonia.

They were playing Celine Dion at Costco yesterday. For the first time I see them displaying Yamaha Pianos. A Costco shopper decided to chip in and played "My Heart Will Go On"
My response was DAMN

Hey Q, spray a little ether into that vacuum. That'll get it running!

I keep seeing comments like "we didn't prepare" and "there's not enough test kits and they weren't available soon enough". How does one, or a country, prepare for the unknown virus ahead of time? Yes, there are plans already in place, and in motion to handle epidemic spread of a pathogen. Dr Fauci(sp) said, in an interview I saw yesterday, that plans were already made and being executed and those plans came from, of all places, the Obama Administration. I guess the blame lays there, then. Given the "speed" that Government moves at, this has been an amazingly fast response.

It takes time to develop a test for any specific virus. This isn't Star Trek and Bones does not have that wonderful "medical Scanner", which was actually a salt shaker. The test kits are rolling out, maybe not as many, or as fast, as would be optimal, but they are getting out there. I heard, this morning, that New York state refused the offer of more test kits than they requested, despite what Cuomo seemed to be saying.

if you're watching the markets, the excrement has hit the oscillator this morning.... gonna be a bumpy ride.

Looks like a pissing match between Russia and Saudi Arabia. Thank You President Trump for making America oil sufficient. I will wait a couple of days and fill up the fuel tank in my car.

According to Andy and other sources it looks like the coronavirus may have peaked in China. The factories are working again and goods are being produced and shipped. I would expect a huge rebound in the stock market this Summer.

Meanwhile -- back on Planet Reality -- easily researched facts show that this was an American team effort...
  • Historically (over the past 35 years) United States oil production bottomed out in September 2008 @ 3,839 barrels produced per day.
  • Between September 2008 to January 20, 2017 United States oil production rose to 8,915 barrels produced per day, an increase of 232%.
  • Between January 20, 2017 to February, 2020 United States oil production rose to 13,100 barrels produced per day, in increase of 147%.

Fracking being allowed on Federal lands and pipelines being completed. The Democrat candidates want to ban fracking.

I am absolutely certain that it would be unwise for us to continue arguing this particular point. Should we choose to do so it's not going to end well. Best to let it be.
