SD49225T-HN frequent restarts

Well hey, it's been a few days and I thought I'd post a screenshot of the image my SD49225T-HN displays 90% of the time. No exaggeration. No bullshit. It will sit like this for days. And then...out of the blue...as if by magic......it's back! And functions as if it were as good as new.

But, alas, the joy is always short-lived and by the end of the day it will return to the SD49225T-HN's "Default Image"...

Oh. My. Goodness. It must have heard me mocking it: I had video for a few minutes. welcome-back.gif

My SD49225T-HN has been a regular workhorse. I've only had to reboot it one time recently when the PT motor froze, and this is after more than a year of service.

I've tried half a dozen firmware versions for my SD49225T-HN...but I'll gladly try 2.422.0000.0.R.2510.Build Date: 2016-09-21 if you got it and you can post it here.

Thanks.

Hi Q(tm). I wish I could assist, but it's the firmware which came with the camera. Wondering if I recall any disk that came with it?

No worries bro...thanks anyway. thumbsup.gif

I guess sending your camera to Dahua didn't work out

I never heard back from Andy on sending it back and now all of China is on vacation. :(

@Q™ you might want to set up a syslog server and set the remote log on the camera (don't forget the enable checkbox) to send events to your syslog server. If may not grab anything useful.

Urgh. I've put way too much time into this camera. I'm going to de-install, it throw it in the driveway, and run over it a dozen times. Fortunately for you guys I have driveway cameras so there will be video.

Your camera seems worse than most, it would be a good one to ship back to dahua, as painfully slow as that may be.
I can help you try a few more things via teamviewer or something similar first.

Andy,
I haven't frequented IPCAMTALK in sometime, usually before a new purchase, and just read through this thread. I've always had random reboots since receiving this camera in October 2017. This past summer I brought it in for a 12 v direct connect, 2 different firmwares and still reboots. Please add me to the list. I'd be interested in a purchase then returning this one after receipt. PM / invoice me after you get Dahua's RMA authorization. Invoice number KING1667.
Thanks,
Bob

Yes Andy...I haven't heard a final work on my SD49225T-HN. It is now disconnected and unused. I need an RMA for this camera. Thank you.

This is a long thread and I haven't read it all, but I read your suspicion that it's new Dahuas that are faulty. I've got two of the same cameras as you, purchased in the last 6 months from Andy, both working great. I don't think either has restarted once out of turn. I'm sure this is well covered in the thread but I'd highly suspect the POE or cable.

Indeed...I'm going to run another cable this weekend, after I've installed the new refrigerator and dishwasher. hardwork.gif
