I've got my four 2335's working nicely.

As for my barn, I appreciate the suggestion, Digger11. Would DS-2CD2232-I5's give me as good a day/night image as the 2335's? They sure would be easier to install without paying for an additional mount and the extra IR wouldn't be bad either.....

I am also starting to like this camera and has good sound as well if your wife wants to hear what is going on in the barn. I would buy one of these to add to your Hik line up as a try.
I don't own one yet but, there is a video on this forum with sound qualtiy very good have not seen the night but I would assume all will be fine as Dahua a good brand and all works with the Hikvision nvr if you ever go that route.

I don't have any firsthand experience with the DS-2CD2232-I5, but I would expect the day image to be identical, and the night image quality to be as good or better than the 2335. The 2232's IR is rated at 50 meters as compared to the 20-30 meter claimed for the 2335.

The 2335 is the newer replacement for the 2232 and they are identical as far as specs never trust what they write as they typically just cut and paste. Ir at 50 meters would not mean much unless you had a 12mm lens to actually see anything at night.

the 2335 and 2232 are completely different cameras....the 2232 is a bullet with dual EXIR. One did not replace the other. The higher IR rating does mean a lot, in that the IR is much stronger...

Totally different internals - much faster CPU and more advanced DSP, and quite different firmware.
A different model completely.

Omnivision ov4689 vs Aptina MT9T002/AR0330 sensor in the 2232 - I don't think there is much to choose on image quality and sensitivity, apart from the ability to use H.265 (so in theory higher quality for the same bit-rate) if (unlikely) your NVR supports it.
But the -I5 EXIR of the 2232 certainly helps the low-light image.

jack, do you have a pic of your drive way one view? I am going to set mine up at about 7ft high as well. Also do they have a locking screw or just really hard to turn?

I ordered a 4 mp and 2 3 mps on 4/4/16 . I have got the 4mp in about a week or so, good cam. the other two are stuck in china somewhere. The seller increased the buyer protection time by 20 days.If you go to store it shows no products..Anybody else having this happen or just my sorry ass luck? Should I give it another week or open a dispute? This is only my third order thru aliexpress. first two went fine. Thracking shows prosessed thru facility....thanks

I just ordered some last night, I did chat with them so with them there responsive to emails and chats. Shoot them an email or do a live chat before you charge them back.

How do you like the 4mp? Are they plastic? I ended up ordering the 3mp, because they are more metal.

Im still processing on my order.

No complaints at all with it.Ishould have ordered 3 .At least I would have them. Yes plastic, but for the money hard to beat. I didn't order thu Xinray it was Web Camera Store

I agree I think I am going to slowly move away from the escam I have now and move the hikvision and update it to the SD29204S-GN it seems to get great reviews PTZ and it has tracking. Thats helps a lot.

I do not believe those are ip66 rated for outdoor all weather use. They say weather proof but that does not say much. I know some have used under a protected area but these are not like the camera here for ip66 rated.
