I've had so so success with wireless cams. I would encourage new users to wire them like you said.

5.4.41 looks like it will be the last for this camera series :
R0 series DS-2CD2x32x-Ixx IP camera firmware
Some of my later cube cameras came with firmware version v5.5.0 build 170725 but I've never seen this released as a downloadable firmware file anywhere. In addition, I believe some people reported issues with this release. I appear to have been fortunate in not seeing those issues.

I haven't been following this thread for a while since I upgraded my two cubes to v5.4.5 build 170123 over a year ago. I now see there is v5.4.81 build 180203 on the Europe site and v5.4.41 build 170312 in this thread. Has anyone try upgrading to either of these newer firmware's assuming they are compatible? Mine have been running fine so I usually don't upgrade unless there is a real reason to do so like security/perf/new feature/etc.

I haven't upgraded any of mine yet.

ETA: I checked the firmware on mine. The Hykamics are running V5.5.53 build 180730. The DS-2CD2432F-IW cams are running V5.4.5 build 170123.

Once the firmware went past 5.4.5, I think almost all of the security bugs had already been extinguished.
I have not updated mine in a long time, and feel the same way, they don't need an update.

I'll stay at 5.4.5 until some positive feedback from upgrading to newer firmware versions.

Having trouble logging into this camera. I've reset it many times but defaults do not work. Any ideas? Blue Iris can see it and I can get the log in screen in my browser as well but can not log in.

By "...can not log in"...do you get a message, an error popup or ???
Can I assume you have you tried logging in to the cam with the same username and password that BI is using ?
What is the HTTP port, 80?

I'm trying to change the password and get it to work in BI, using defaults for both. BI shows port 80. BI identifies it as generic/ONVIF model:TRSP H.264/H.265/MJPG/MPEG4. When I try to add the camera is shows error: 8000007a (Check Port/User/Password) 0

You’re using a wired connection to the camera, not a WiFi connection...correct?
Correct. Wired straight to my IQ Router.

I don’t mean to be a wise guy...but have you checked that the uid and password are indeed correct?

From what I remember, there is no default passsword for these cameras. On your initial login, it will force you to set one.

Isn’t that Dahua...not Hikvision? In any event, adding a camera in Blue Iris is gonna fail without a valid uid and password.

Both maybe? :D I remember needing to that when setting up a DS-2CD2443G0-IW last week.

Correct. Wired straight to my IQ Router.
How are you changing the password? Is it longer than 16 characters?
