Hello

I have 30 of the I51DS and am having a nightmare with them losing settings, for example always reverting back to manual set time rather than NTP, oh and motion detection is an absolute nightmare. It's set up completely right, and if you have human/vehicle set, you can see it in the preview tagging things, but it never triggers, so no recording.

Other than that, the lens and sensor are absolutely bang on for the money!

there are no problems with these cameras, even on the annke firmware, for these cameras you need a recorder, for example DS-7608NXI-K, DS-7608NI-K, they work perfectly and there are no problems with ntp and events/ see the settings of your system. Reflashing the cameras will definitely not give you anything.

So I was on with tech support at ANNKE and they suggested various things which didn’t work, the client got annoyed and researched their own solution, have used another company to change the firmware to Hik and now the time doesn’t wander and the motion works exactly as it should.

I should add this is all on an ONVIF recorder, rather than native.

The firmware change worked. However I’m loyal so didn’t want to change it to a 3rd party. Oh well.

That's a pretty shit experience in my opinion.

I told them that changing the day/night switch to auto removes the option to adjust the gain setting (but still allows to adjust exposure).
I also asked them if there was a firmware that allowed setting a range for exposure.
They told me there was only the option to set a fixed exposure and sent me a screenshot of the setting.

They then asked me for some screen shots showing the missing gain setting.
Their own screenshot showed that there was no gain option.

They made sure to tell me i don't need to adjust anything because the camera is very good and they tested everything and when it's set to automatic day/night switch it can just work out exactly what it needs to do.
Very much like the post just up there that says there are no problems with the cameras.

Honestly I was so impressed with the quality of the cameras, I was pretty much sold, but then the time just kept slipping from NTP to manual, and losing an hour, and then the venue called saying they had lost a load of stock off the bar, and the camera had not seen any motion, so I went through all the settings like we do, everything was alright.

Could not find a reason why this was happening at all, but the time difference with support was a major major issue. So on this site I had 35 ANNKE cameras, and as I say I cannot fault the quality of the images.

I could go into loads more detail but end of the day the client got bored of waiting and got someone else into sort it out.

They changed the firmware to Hik, and it worked perfectly.

The assistant manager there is a good friend and told me afterwards.

Got the firmware on the offical Hkvision portal. it all seems working, was on macOS beforehand but now on windows with the plugin installed, all seems fine.
Is it possible to do this on Mac?

I can get it in the app over LAN, is it however possible to check it remotely?
Would someone have an ideo on this one?

it has been written many times that switching to hikvision firmware will result in the loss of some functionality and camera resolution, it was 8 it will become 6, or it was 5 it will become 4

What are you, some kind of parrot to say the same things over and over? Let me decide what to do with my devices please. I understand the warnings but we had plenty so please only post useful information that helps the thread move forward.

Btw you are not loosing megapixels as the sensor in those cameras are physically 4 and 6 mp and the annke fw reaches the higher mpix only by interpolation at the cost of motion detail especially in the dark. You only “loose” that but gain better motion detection and all the security pathes and fixes compared to the downlevel original fw.

Do you determine interpolation by eye? Hik has both 5 and 8 MP DS-2CD1357G0-L(UF) or this one has 8 DS-2CD1383G2-LIU(F)

You seem to confuse even yourself. Please stop. These cameras are completly different animals, not even from the same platform.

In this case for hik value series that Annke is rebranding the story is the following: 4mp sensor size: 1/3" (called 5mp in Annke variant), 6mp sensor size: 1/2.4" (called 8mp in Annke variant), 8mp sensor size: 1/2.7" (called 12mp in Annke variant)

Hik fw drives the sensor at it's physical max. Annke fw makes it higher mpix by interpolation. Be constructive, from my side it's all I can say, and no more. If you have positive result or you can help someboby with something post it, if not, keep quiet.

In my opinion, this is not a problem with the interpolation added by Annke. Take a look at the boot logs of these cameras. During boot, u-boot unpacks the partition with XML configuration files. I think that the original hikvision firmware lacks the correct configuration for the camera ID that Annke has saved. Hence, for example, the lack of detection of people and cars in the C800 or the wrong resolution in other models. Unfortunately, the firmware in these cameras is encrypted and cannot be easily modified by adding missing configurations.

It is not Dracula's grandson who can tell me what to write and what not to write on the forum.

and now a few words about the constructiveness, annke does not make firmware, firmware is made by hik, according to annke's wishes, and they are located on hk servers and are downloaded from there

Successfully flashed Annke C800 (I91DM0104-V2) with Hik DS-2CD1363G2 Firmware_V5.8.4_240613 (G6). New web interface, all functions prefect. As sensor is 6Mp camera does not suppport higher resolution after flash, as previously stated.
