Annke Firmware to Hikvision Firmware: HOW TO

any reason to upgrade? I have the C800(I91DS) turret and I dont know if its worth updating? Does it give you more control over the annke firmware? Also since the the hikvision equivalent is 6MP does it mean that the annke c800 in reality is a 6MP cam dressed to look like a 8MP?

My reason (should not be folowed by anyone, but still) is that I have a device in my hands that has normal, continuous support from HIK I want to utilize that I am not getting from the "original" brand support.
Other than that compared to your version you get:
  • almost one year of bugfixes and improvements (you can research all release notes with the corresponding improvement details)
  • better ONVIF security (user management including pw protection)
  • brand new, updated GUI
  • I guess a lot more that I am not aware

Have you updated the firmware yourself yet? Did everything work?

yes, I flashed it, now the HiLook interface logo :)

now it remains to find firmware for C-R-K9B2-00 higher than 4.74 they have a person-car filtration
and N48PBB - K20B2 It looks like we found what we needed.
This is for the N48PAW, right? Any points to highlight in terms of the HiLook fw? Do you recommend this version to flash?

This is by far not the latest version and it makes no sense to download anything from unknown sources when the fws are available on the HIK official site, linked several times in the thread.
The difference is that it is FW for annke and no resolution is lost, not even the HIK logo. I don't know why for his C800 (I91DS) it is available and for (I91DL) it is not

Thanks so I’m new to this and I was wondering how do people find the equivalent hik for the ANNKE? And also did you download from the hik USA site?

And one more thing, iirc someone mentioned that after hik firmware update the resolution went down to 6MP since the hik vision is 6MP. Would I be able to go back to the original ANNKE firmware if I need to any time?

Oh and one more thing, do you have a hikvision NVR? And did you test the ANNKE camera with the original firmware with it? The reason I’m asking is that I wanna try to pair my existing ANNKE cams to my hikvision NVR and I was hoping that it’s all a simple plug-n-play rather than ONVIF since ANNKE is rebadged hik.

To find the right fw it takes some time and research and still there are several ways, best is if you follow this thread and look for proven ways.
There are cases where there is no easy way of going back, but you can always use a serial communication and load back the original content, of couse it takes more time/skill and research.
And last, Annke cams communicate through HIK protocol with HIK NVRs, so it is simple and effortless, no worries.

got it thank you, so the reason I’m asking all of this is that ANNKE has a 2 year warranty and I am building a system for my friend and I’m not gonna upgrade the ANNKE firmware to hikvision since it’s gonna void warranty.

So I’m just gonna use the ANNKE cams with the hikvision NVR.

It would be best if someone confirms, but Annke and Hik use the same protocol so there should be no problem connecting, But above you already have the answer to that.

Yes it is possible to restore the previous firmware. You have to look for the way a few posts earlier.
And with this search for FW, there is no clear answer. Sometimes all you have to do is type in google and there it is ;) And sometimes you have to struggle and have some luck. The best way is to scroll through the topic from the beginning and there are a lot of answers in it

They will do great, good decision!
